Is there CM who would look after my child on different days?

I live in Northampton. I don't have any friends that can help. Don't have any family here.
I'm going to work on the nurses bank, so 2 weeks in advance I will book my shifts.
Do you think, or know of someone who will look after my child if I tell them 2 weeks in advance when I will need childcare. Shifts will be 6 hours so 7 hours a day to look after DD who is 19months.

Some may be able to help you - the best thing to do is call around and ask.

someone starting out with no other/few mindees id think as we have ratios to stick to and with one or two others it would ebcome impossible.

It would probably be something I could do right now (although not in your area, sorry!) but it would depend how flexible people can be.

Thanks, I'll phone around later.

some childminders will do this but charge in different ways, eg1 full fees for each day you want to reserve, its then up to you which of these you use & how often.
2 a set weekly fee for a specified number of hours with the flexibility for you to choose when those hours would be taken. (usually a higher rate than if you had a regular-hours placement to compensate for the childminder not being able to fill the unused hours with another child)
3 a retainer fee (eg half fees) payable for each day you want to reserve. You then notify which of these you want to use, paying full fees for booked hours and retainer fee for remainder of the reserved time.

I'd do it without charging a retainer, but I'm one of few.

I would do it without charging a retainer. I have a chid at the mo who I only know if I'm picking up from school the day before or sometimes, on occasion, the hour before picking them up! I'm assuming the number of hours may be similar each week, it's just the days etc? I'm in MK though, so probably no use, but call round!

sorry I'm far away, Berkshire
