Need a childminder in SE London from October. Is it too early to start looking?

I'll be going back to work when my lo is a year old in October and although I can hardly bear to think about it I know that I shouldn't leave it too late to arrange childcare. Will childminders accept reservations this far in advance? Thanks for any suggestions.

Certainly worth starting to think about it. Every cm has different ways of working. There might be one that is loosing a mindee from September and therefore is just waiting for your call. If you think about it lots of minders will loose mindees at this time of year, because they start full time school. Where abouts in SE London are you?

Know of two good ones in my immediate locality, and two other good ones nearby. Can you be specific as to where you are looking, SE London is a big place I am thinking of "east" SE London, Eltham/Bexley area

Thanks for your replies. I'd be looking for someone in Brockley or New Cross

Hope you're not thinking of me Marina! I'm outta this business shortly! Try the SureStart website. It'll give you a list of all the childcare in your area. I can't link it for some reason.

Oooh, did you get that job?
I was thinking of you as one of the four
Off my patch I'm afraid teff, best of luck with finding someone local
