Hi all

And how do you assess whether a bug or due to teething etc.?
Do you only refuse if diarrhea accompanied by vomiting?

I would refuse if the child was obviously feeling unwell, had a fever or had been ill the previous day.

Diarrhea - often smells really acid if it's due to a bug, plus if another child has had it recently

when in my care more than one very runny nappy and they go home!..unless i know its down to jabs etc!

As one of my babies was often runny, I would judge on smell (could tell when teething due to smell), how they were etc - does make it hard though. The other baby never had runny nappies so if they were runny, I'd get them sent home.

Not much help there was I!!! (it's LT by the way )

One of my parents omitted to tell me mindee had diarrhea prior to leaving mindee with me one morning a couple of weeks ago; elder sibling told me mindee was sick day before; couldn't say to parents that sibling had told me this but when mindee collected, stressed that if mindee has diarrhea again or sickness, he must stay at home. Since then, parents sent mindee again on Friday without telling me mindee had diarrhea. I have now just learnt that another mindee, who is under 12 months old went down with D&V badly over weekend. How can I drum it into first parent that they must tell me when mindee could be infectious?
Anyone else have this problem with parents?

Tan print this and issue it to all parents.

stress that YOU WILL HAVE TO CLOSE if you get it and even if there child is over it, they would still need to take time off if you were closed.

Thanks Shoshe

I had to close back in early November having contracted it from mindee - the whole family had it and they sent him to me, soon got sent back though...

Hi SSATN, wondered who you were
