Morning (really early morning!) Would love to, but not a moment to spare at the moment. Demanding 2 year old who doesn't like to sleep = no free time for mummy.

Just waiting for my mindee to arrive, they pay from 7am but arrive anywhere between 6.59 and 8.30 so I have to be up regardless and I could really use to be in bed!

I told one of my mindees parents yesterday about the pregnancy and she took it well. I just know in their position I would be looking for other care. I have to take at least 3 months off to recover from my c/section and if I was a parent that would put me in a panic - how do you find temporary care for that?! I really want them to stay until May though, whine whine whine. Keeping busy is making this a lot easier for me. Have to tell my other full time one today.

KatyMac · 03/01/2008 07:49

Morning all

Goodness & Gosh - I am so tired

MaureenMLove · 03/01/2008 07:54

Morning!
Oh to be able to read a book in a month! I only get time to read in bed and fall asleep after one page! I've got 5 books on my bedside table waiting to be read from last Christmas!

Fun and games here. I woke up late. Well, actually I wasn't late, but dd was. Set your own alarm me thinks! Anyway, flicked her light on, shouting, GET UP, GET UP, GEt UP! She wandered round likea t*t in a trance for 5 mins, whilst I ran the bath for her and generally fussed and muttered about 12 year olds, then she grabbed hold of my arm and quite calming said' 'Mummy - I start at 10.50 today.' Ooops!

No snow here yet btw!

shoshe · 03/01/2008 07:56

Good Morning all, still not working

LoveMyGirls · 03/01/2008 08:47

Morning everyone, back at work today, got my new-ish baby from 9 til 3 then possibly my pt mindee coming 3.30 til 6. Quite looking forward to getting back into the swing of things though the break has been great, I actually haven't had a headache for the whole time i've been off, before I was having one everyday.

I'm going to advertise like mad this weekend to try and get another full timer now mine has left.

mumlove · 03/01/2008 08:51

Morning everyone, I'm glad I don't go back to work until monday as I had a tooth out yesterday and it's hurts, I didn't sleep last night either!

looneytune · 03/01/2008 09:07

Morning all

No snow here yet either. Just waiting for mindee who is usually due around 8.15am but sometimes comes around 9.30 after the school run but they know I have no school today so not sure when they will arrive.

crace - how many more do you need to tell? I'm pleased that one took it ok. I know about the worry but I was surprised at how well my lot took it. I did start by saying I was having 4 weeks off then changed it to 3 months off but only 1 knows that. That's because I changed things recently and have given notice to 2 (sisters) and will be getting double pay baby all week instead and they are the ones who persuaded me to have longer off. Yes, they are concerned about childcare for that time off but we are working on this together. They have changed everything and agreed to pay me double all week SINCE they've known about the pregnancy so that reassures me. Another mindee is TT only so won't be affected much as they will be on summer hols for most of it (I'm due 23rd June). The other one is a new starter starting in Feb and I was surprised she was also fine with the 3 months off. AND....I'm going to have another new adhoc mindee 1 day a week for Feb, March and May (her mum on maternity leave then) so it's all worked out. If you're like me, you'll worry and worry but honestly, once you've told them all, you'll feel much better! When are you due?

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 03/01/2008 09:16

SNOWINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG out to aprk with kids...byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

crace · 03/01/2008 09:42

No snow yet here either In SE so I think we will be lucky.

LT Am due sometime in May I get my date in Feb when I see the consultant but it will be mid May probably. I am hoping they just stick it out until May so I can earn the most income before I have to stop. I only have 2 other families to tell but one is TT only too and one day a week, it's the other fulltimer I have to tell that makes me nervous. Today is the day though!

The problem is really that childminders and nurseries are like gold dust around here. I am one of two childminders in the village and it was just me until recently. I do have a friend in toddler group that is taking the ICP course and I am going to push her to be registered by then!

MaureenMLove · 03/01/2008 11:15

Just found a great colouring website, loads and loads of stuff on it. Worth keeping in favourites imho! Enjoy!

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 03/01/2008 13:14

we didnt make it to park, wentt o post office to send in amendment to tax return, dd and mindee wanted sausage roll from abkery..so got one, baby mindee fast asleep then on way to park snow started like blizzard, couldnt actually see where we were walking!..so came back here and looked like snowmen!, baby mindee in buggy looked like she was in an igloo we had to keep wiping her raincover so she could see out, she thought it was hilarious!
still pelting down now!, must be about 4 inches here now which is very unusual(teesside), dp up working near hills said its thick heavy snow and deep!
promised them we'd make snowmen out back but 3yr old mindee acting really weird, think he's very very tired?, not been like this before(tears/wont talk/saying weird stuff that makes no sense??), so have laid him on sofa with cushions to see if he'll have nap, baby mindee just been laid down for nap as she only had 20mins while out this morn, so dd playing on her new camera and ill get up to date with diarys!...hope youre all having a good day??xxx

southernbelle77 · 03/01/2008 13:16

DD woke up late this morning (at 8am compared to the usual 5am!!) not feeling well so we are having a very lazy day!
Told mindees mum when they turned up that we wouldn't be doing much today as dd not well and she was fine! mindee being very sweet and keeps checking on dd as she has been alseep on the sofa most of the morning! He is happily amusing himself which is great.
Snowing here now too but not enough to settle or anything

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 03/01/2008 13:25

right.mindee 1 asleep, mindee 2 asleep, dd playing with her camera/game on my bed, im on ehre and printing off pics to go on diaries and friendship wall......and still snowing madly!gunna be a nightemare tonight when we go food shopping!

looneytune · 03/01/2008 13:34

Just popping in quickly to say I will no longer be on here as looneytune. Long story but my parents read a thread about them and are devastated and clearly they search for messages under my nickname so I'm going to have to become someone else Need to think of names now!!!

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 03/01/2008 13:45

MaureenMLove · 03/01/2008 13:45

ToomanynewyearsROSElutions · 03/01/2008 13:45

HOw about Jessicarabbit???? shes a looneytoon so we'd associate you with it???

dylansaunty · 03/01/2008 13:56

HI, I dont often post, but i need to vent my anger somewhere!
got a phone call from mother of an afterschooler I have. School closed cos the heating is broken. They had sent the 4 year old home, on foot, with a 10 year old who happens to live in the same road! No parents, a main road to cross, and hadn't even asked the mother if this was ok.

I know its up to the parents to complain to ther school, but i am so cross i just needed to let off steam.
I collected the girl form the house of this 10 year old, and she will be with me till her mum finishes work tonight, so all is well in the end, but I really cant belive a school treated a child in year R like this!!!!!

looneytune · 03/01/2008 14:07

& Can't believe it. Jesus, my mum searches for my threads!!! Anyway, if you have ideas for new name, email me at info at helenslittleangels dot co dot uk - can't use jessicarabbit in case this is being watched

MaureenMLove · 03/01/2008 14:12

O M F G! That is OUTRAGEOUS! A 4 year old. Bloody hell. I am so shocked I don't know what else to say, other than swear!

shoshe · 03/01/2008 14:18

MaureenMLove · 03/01/2008 14:27

Can't seem to send an e-mail to you LT, it could just be me being stuck everso slightly in the 20th Century! Someone else try. I don't have MSN anymore, I do have the other medium we have spoken on. Being delibarately cagey, in case we're being watched!
