Need 4 Childminders to Help with Research Project (NHS Highland)

Hello!

I am the Research and Development Manager for NHS Highland. We are doing a research project with mums and babies along with the University of Aberdeen. The project is called MELLOW BABIES. It aims to support mums who are struggling with babies from 6 months to 18th months and who are anxious, depressed or very stressed. We are starting an interventional group for 10 mums in Inverness mid November. I have the practitioner staff already in place, the venue booked (Culduthel Christian Centre), the research staff in place BUT I need 4 childminders or other people who can look after around 10 babies between 10.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. on a Tuesday for 15 weeks. The mums and babies come together at lunchtime to interact, but we would pay for all 5 hours of work for the childminders. I will not deny I am struggling to find people available - everybody thinks the project is great but there are not many people able to give me the day / hours I need. Is there anybody out there who could help me??? If you are interested could you email me on [email protected] or phone me on 01463 255912 or 07709 540583 (not sure if I am allowed to put mob number on here but thought I would!!)

Regards

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

You need to advertise for emergency or short term nannies. Childminders will have contracted children to care for in their own homes each week. Rare to find one who has a full day off on a Tuesday let alone 4 in a small area.

Hi Georgie

Thanks for the advice....will MumsNet have people who could do that (short term nannies etc) on it or should I try some other route?

Frances

What about contacting Inverness College to see if any of their childcare students would be interested in the roles?

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 01/11/2021 17:01

Or try childcare.co.uk

Or student nurses? But the college idea is really good I went to inverness college a long time ago. Sounds a really interesting topic what is your background op, just curious.

No-one is going to be free one day a week for 5 hours. They can't earn the rest of the day. Try a nanny agency and be prepared to pay decent money - for such limited hours on a short term I'd say at least £20 gross per person.
