Tax/NI

I know this has been debated a million times but can someone tell me quickly what the threshold is for paying nanny's tax etc - the hours I need an afterschool nanny will be 9 hours a week which presently will be under the threshold I think, but what happens on the odd occasion whereby we need extra babysitting? Presumably that is not part of the week's work but an extra....confused....

Extra babysitting I get paid cash in hand (as a nanny). PAYE is 100/week, 435/month.

If you pay less than £160 per week (Gross Pay), then you can use Simplified PAYE - details
