Tried the Health board and no reply. DD had temp of 104 last night, gone down a bit today. She's got really mottled skin and like a pimply rash, not red though really. Apart from being just generally unwell she is screaming when I change her nappy, especially when I wipe her groin, as if she's in pain. Couldn't get in GP today, will try tomorrow. Any ideas?? Should I go to out of hours GP with this?

Any help appreciated.

Witha temerature that high and a rash I'd be taking her to A&E to be honest.

Have you called NHS Direct?
They will take all your details and get a Senior Nurse Consultant to call you back.

Agree - that's a HIGH temp! Hope she's ok

A&E. Her behaviour is out of the ordinary for her, her temperature is high and has been for a while, she sounds to be in pain and she has a rash. A&E

Well, back from hospital. They say it's just viral and she might have a stomach upset with it, but kept DD in over-night to regulate her temperature. So absolutely knackered. DD loved it, being the centre of attention and all. You wouldn't have thought anything was wrong with her! Especially this morning, waking up bright as a button. Now we've got home all the wingeing has started again! Typical.

But she's much better today though, thanks guys.

Glad she's better today but though it was 'just viral' it caused a temp spike that they wanted to keep her in with so you definitely did the right thing.
