Advice on Xmas bonus/gift for childminder

Would appreciate advice from childminders or parents...

We have a lovely fulltime childminder and I would like to show how much we appreciate her this Christmastime. She's looked after our 10 month dd for 3 months and we hope to continue using her for at least a couple of years.

Is there any standard Christmas bonus childminders receive? Or is a gift more appropriate? Any suggestions welcome...

There was a thread on this a while ago and general opinion from childminders, was that they'd be a bit embarrassed by money. (Am CM btw!) I would like some jewellery maybe, nothing flashy, just nice quality fashion stuff, vouchers maybe or even wine. All my parents know I like a drop of the old vino, so I'm more than happy with wine! Steer clear of chocolates or biscuits though, they do get a bit boring! You never know whether to stock up in case you don't get any or not to in case you get loads!

as a cm, id say vouchers for somewhere or a treatment(our local beauty salan does full body massage for "30) that kind of thing, something she will enjoy herself and be pamperd..oh and how lovely of you to think about her and put effort into it

Very helpful tips, thx - probably will go for vouchers or jewellery. I haven't noticed her wearing much jewellery but think that might be protection against little grabby hands.
