Hi everyone, I have been offered a job in childcare where I will also be studying for my level 3 qualification. I am working in a room with 0-2 year olds. Does anyone have advice on things I can prepare for and what I should learn to feel more confident in the role?

Practice holding a wriggly giggly babies and older ones . Then changing a 2 yo when they crawl away from you at 50 mph.
You’ll gain a lot of experience on the job, just be confident. If you fancy looking at Safeguarding children online, Also the open university do loads of free courses related to kids m worth a look

The online stuff can be grim to read it’s not all hearts and love. Your employer should give you training every year but there’s no harm in preparing yourself a bit

Google schemes and heuristic play

Do you have any experience ? Can you change a nappy, make a bottle, know ways to get a baby to sleep? Plenty videos around of the very basics.

Do you know any nursery rhymes or songs?

I’d start taking vitamins and eating well as you are likely get every bug going.
