Nooooooooooooooooooo lots of creamy cakes as well

How are you this morning CM ?

Just had a phone call that stayathome mindee2 is off, mum had to take him to A&E last night with breathing probs!!!!!!

Its just a virus, but my poor boy, he has been off with tummy bug, came back yesterday, and seemed so much better than he had been for a couple of weeks.

He is better now, but is staying at home with Dad for the rest of the week.

Stayathome mindee3 was off yesterday, as I had to send him home with conjuncitivits, as well!

CranberryMartini · 29/11/2007 07:29

I'm knackered. These last few weeks are going so slowly. Feel rejected as well - mum of baby I saw last week has said they want to put her in a nursery instead . I'm trying not to take it personally!

Sorry to hear about mindee's mum - hope she's better soon.

It wasnt mindee's mum it was mindee!

And dont take it personaly, think people who choose Nurseries want a totally differnet type of care than CM's, so maybe it was that she wanted that sort of care, but came for a look just to make sure.

I was like you last year, really not enthusiastic, in the last run up to Christmas, found it hard to be motivated etc. You need the break love. You will feel better after it.

Saz73 · 29/11/2007 07:47

Morning all, CM my mindee's neigbour is looking for a minder. It's not too far from you, it's only 1-2 days per week. Not sure if that's any good?

CranberryMartini · 29/11/2007 07:56

Oh. Who's it for?

OP posts:
LoveMyGirls · 29/11/2007 07:56

Morning,

Well i waited for mindee to come to give them all breakfast at the same time only to find food all round mindees face so rang mum to check (because sd never gives me any info at all whatsoever when he drops off) and yes he's already had some.

CM - one of mine did that too, it is hard not to take it personally.

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 29/11/2007 08:30

mumlove · 29/11/2007 09:26

Morning everyone, I've not been around much the last few days as a week ago Monday I broke my tooth and I had lots of pain, but my lovely dentist has temporary filled it until after new year when I can have it sorted out properly!

Everyone is getting so excited about xmas, my dd is in a xmas parade on saturday afternoon she has to dress up as holly.
Enjoy your day.

CranberryMartini · 29/11/2007 11:13

Its dead quiet round these parts today. Not just in here either. I suppose everyone has work to do. I haven't! Well, I could find something to do, but I can't be arsed!

SweetSnowflake · 29/11/2007 13:20

Hi Everyone..today so far is marginally better.

Mum of new mindee seems to be better, but sadly HAD to work today..bens ending her photos on phone of her ds and other mindee making cakes for second mindees birthday party tonight

mindees mum (who's supposed to be a friend!) blanked me at school today even when i had to move her dd's buggy out of way to get past...am brewing !...

new mindee whos mum was poorly has just walked head first smack bang into a lamp post as he was trying to see my dd in their school playground[guilty], big bump, not to many tears, lots of snot, lots of cuddles and kisses...got to nursery teachers gave me ice pack to put on and bump went down, text mum about it and will fill out accident form..but as i was leaving mindee said is said tiny voice, XXX dont leav eme...i gave him another cuddle, and said ill pick you back up soon sweetheart, have fun and walked away..hid round corner and asked TA what he was doing?..he was playing with other little boy and didnt flinch....but still wrenched my heart..

Made three lots of cakes (ofsted will say ive making them obese!) for mindee's birthday party tonight(birthday tomorrow but hes only here today), choclate crispy cakes, tom and jerry packet mix and get me....my very own from scratch banana sponge cake!..its GORGEOUS!(aherm..no i havent been slicing bits off while mindee asleep)
very plain sponge with mashed banana in..never ever made a cake in my adult years except pre mixed boxes so quite ..only trouble was mindees wanted to eat them THEn poor lambs couldnt understand it was for after school and mummies wouldnt be happy if theyd all had 2 portions of 3 diff cakes!

Ooh Ohh and ive just this sec had an enquiry for 10month old, for jan (so a year old)tow days a week!

so hit and miss today

SweetSnowflake · 29/11/2007 13:22

soory appaling spelling and space barred too early

LoveMyGirls · 29/11/2007 13:23

You've been busy then SS! Fingers crossed on getting new mindee!!

SweetSnowflake · 29/11/2007 13:29

god it would be hectic though!

thing is most of these enquiries never come back so might as well see!

might not be so bad as new mindee gos to nursery in afty's, have two 2 yr olds(one thursday one friday) and rest before after schoolys who are over 5/8!

SweetSnowflake · 29/11/2007 13:30

and a quicky!, ofsted website has my ratios down the opposite way round to my certificate??..what should i do?, just checked it last week , im fine according to my certificate, neevr signed anything to change as theyve said id need to do, so where do i stand?

mumlove · 29/11/2007 13:31

Afternoon, mindees had lots of fun at toddlers, had lunch, now their all alseep.
I have brought coffee and choc digestives in for everyone to share. New packet so no glitter included.

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 29/11/2007 13:59

I've just woken up! I came over all sleepy about an hour ago, so I had a little power nap! Still knackered, but that'll teach me for staying up until 1.30am!

SS - I'd give Ofsted a quick ring. If its just the website thats wrong, it'll be an administrative error. ( Ofsted make mistakes?) Your new batch for the new year sounds good. Bit like me really, all mine are parttime and it gives me a couple of days without any little ones and because my ratio is well within my limits, it means I can switch anyone, anytime if they need me to, which is sometimes a big plus point for parents working parttime. I like the fact that every day is different too. 2 days a week is babies, then 2 days of just schoolies, then one day of mixed.

SweetSnowflake · 29/11/2007 14:01

right, this new enquiry..would you think id be taking on too mcuh....

monday = take dd and mindee 1 to school
all day off then collect dd and 4 mindees after school

tuesday = same as monday

wednesday = take dd and mindee 1 to school for 8am, then meet (younger) mindee 2, take home.
back to school 12.00 to go to nursery with mindee 2.
no one till 3pm, bring home dd and 3 mindees

thursday = take dd mindee 1, mindee 2 and mindee 3 to school, bring mindee 2 & 3 home
take mindee 2 to nursery 12.00
bring mindee 3 home
collect dd and 4 mindees at 3.00

friday same as thursday.

through into this a 12 month old baby wed and thurs, would that me crazy???

idd have 3 under 5, thur 3 age 5-8 and one over 8.
(like i said earlier, not sure which ofsted think i should be doing ie more/less over/under 5 as my certificate say diff to thier website?)
so may need variation?

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 29/11/2007 14:08

Sounds ok to me, you'll end up feeling like Maria Von Trapp with all those children and will no doubt get used to counting children on the way home from school! I still do it, but with the added difficulty that most of my Rainbows go to my primary pickup and they all chat and cross the road with me too! Even though their parents are walking up the road, I usually have at least 3 extras hanging on the pram and chatting to me!

fruitloop79 · 29/11/2007 14:13

afternoon ladies

i've just eaten two flapjacks .

Just found out I dont need to get my afterschooly today so now stuck for something to do with a two year old, a 19 month old and a 1 year old. They've got zero concentration spans . I quite like doing school pick up, brakes up afternoon.

I still havnt managed to get 'make and do' stuff and cant anyway till pay day.

I could do cakes with them but I'll eat them all as well as the rest of the flapjacks

Why is there never any afternoon drop ins????

SweetSnowflake · 29/11/2007 14:13

im like that now, one two three..one two three...four..one two three...STOPPPPPPPP were number 4!

MamaG · 29/11/2007 14:16

Hi all
How are you all doing? I need to ask a question.

DH is thinking of going back to work full time (currently works on teh days I don't, IYKWIM).

We have 3 year old DS & 8 year old DD

How much could we expect to pay, for after nursery/school care?

3.15 - pick DS up from nursery
3.30 - pick DD up from school
5.45 - I'd pick them up from CM house

?

Or will I be told to bog off, they will only want them ful days?

fruitloop79 · 29/11/2007 14:42

Mama G - Fees vary quite a lot. Normally between £4-£5 per hour per child (sometimes there's a discount for siblings)and normally the whole hour will be charged or at least half of it. so it will be 3pm-6pm

You might find that for the 3 year old you'll be charged for half day as he will be taking up a possible full time space iyswim.

So at very least £12 a day for each child, then possible discount (I do 10%) for 2nd child
