shoshaliteupthetree · 23/11/2007 07:05

ooohh mince pies, just what my diet ordered

we are going to another CM's today (my fab cleaner comes in on a Friday, so we like to get out of her way if we can)

I know what you mean Martini, I have cleared our display board, a week early by mistake, and it is to early to start doing a christmas display.

Still all the decorations are going up on th e1st (we go mad with lights), and the Hanakuh candles will go up the eavnung of the 4th, so hopefully will then get into the holiday spirit.

CranberryMartini · 23/11/2007 07:24

Yes can't wait til the 1st - I love putting decorations up!

I don't have a display board. I'm afraid DH comes ahead of Ofsted and he'd divorce me if I made this house look any more like a nursery.
(I would secretly love one btw)

WOOHOOO! I've got that Friday feeling! It's been a long week with shift workers kids and two nights of training. going out sat night to seriously let my hair down, followed by a lie in and a cooked brekky!

EYFS course was quite positive btw but one table of cms were really negative - I have a good feeling about it now and think it will improve standards in all settings.

I have bagels and crumpets on offer {snaffles mince pie} and runs. TTFN!

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 23/11/2007 08:08

I don't like mince pies!

Early mindee not here yet. Mum bringing her after dropping the older kid at her Cm's. Traffic from her house to mine is awful, because you have to cut across the main road into London, so no telling when she'll be here. I got up at 5.30 as usual though and I've done all my housework, with the exception of hoovering, didn't see the point, since we're cutting and gluing today! Got mindees til 6.30 tonight and then I've got my first xmas night out! Can't wait (not) going out with the Guiders in my district. Dull - very dull!

Katymac · 23/11/2007 08:16

I'm off to Blackpool in about 2 mins leaving my ladies in charge

I hate being away while we are open

Have a nice weekend everyone

LoveMyGirls · 23/11/2007 08:18

Morning, I've got another cm coming round this morning for a change so that will be good.

Woke up with a headache, sore throat and my boobs are killing me (anyone know about sore boobs? it's been like this for a few days but i'm not due af, and was like it for a couple of weeks or so not that long ago too)

We've already made some xmas dec's and i've done quite a bit of shopping now i'm concentrating on trying to advertise like mad to get new business in after new year (if not before!) Off out tomorrow to drop leaflets in all local hairdressers and shops!

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 23/11/2007 08:31

CranberryMartini · 23/11/2007 08:33

poor ds
i am dealing with a bully at the mo which i childmind its very confussing

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 23/11/2007 11:52

Linked it for you Ju. I'll get over and have a read in about five minutes.

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 23/11/2007 12:22

I've had a very relaxing morning with just the one mindee. we made a snowman out of cd's to hang on the Chirstmad tree and then did some prints of snowflakes on black paper. We also nicked someones idea of bubble wrap snowmen! Who was that? It was either Crace or LMG. Think it was LMG actually! Thanks!

Things are going to get steadily more stressful between 12.30 and 6.30 though. Got one more mindee coming in a a minute, then lunch for all (incl DH) they school for 2 yr 3's and a yr 5. Of all of those, only one needs feeding tonight, but none of them are going til 6.30!

Still good news on my own dd. She's going straight to a friends after school and her mum has just been to collect her stuff for an overnighter! I said, I'll pick her up in the morning, she said, Oh I think they want the day together, is 4pm OK? Oh go on then, I said! Yippee!!

Hennipenniinapeartree · 23/11/2007 12:59

I've had a good morning too, been for a nice long cold walk with mindee, picke up mindee1 from nursery had lunch and fter we've cleared up we are going to make snowmen with cottonwool we bought this morning.

Will post late on AIBU thread later with regards morning nursery pick up, feeding 3 children in 20 mins and then an afternoon nursey drop off!

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 23/11/2007 13:03

Thanks Mo and the gang

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 23/11/2007 13:54

My quiet day turned a bit mental in the end and then I had time to post and bloody mumsnet went down again!!! Anyway, I'm being quick as need to eat and leave by 2.30 so sorry if appears I'm ignoring everyone.

UPDATE.....

Had a scan this morning and my little bubba is now 33mm long (was 9mm last time) and now looks like a proper baby and not a bean - amazing what happens in just 3 weeks!! Anyway, bubba was asleep then lady had to go and check something and then came back and did again for measurements and it woke up and waved at me (well, wiggled about and moved it's arm/leg). I'm soooooooo thrilled and am now feeling very lucky that I'm not feeling sick etc!!! I was worried but now I'm just so happy! Phoned mum of 2 sisters and she's pleased for us and was fine! Will hopefully tell pre-schooler's dad tonight (if can get ds away hiding or something) and then double pay baby's mum will hopefully be at toddler group on Monday. YIPPEEEEEEEE

OFSTED - had reply about my complaint.......worded in a way that 'they didn't realise i had permission' and that I 'AM meeting standards' etc and no further action plus won't be on my report etc.

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 23/11/2007 13:54

I've just been watching Balamory with my mindees. Did I ever tell you that I've actually been to Balamory and they were filming at the time? Got a picture of DD with Spencer and some of the nursery kids on the bus! Saw Miss Hoolie - she's a miserable moo, wouldn't hang around for pictures with the kids.

fruitloop79 · 23/11/2007 14:15

Hi guys,

What's wrong with MN? took me ages to get on, kept saying 'connection lost'. Oh well I'm here now
I've just eaten 4 massive pieces of choc and regretting it now
Been to group this morning, kids now all asleep. Not got school pick up till 4.30 so nice relaxing afternoon. I hope anyway - DS was creating quite a lot before lunch, standing in middle of road screaming while I try carry 2 toddlers. Wish I could've ignored it but perhaps not a good idea on a busy road!

My soon to be DH ate all the kids' lunch when he got home drunk last night (I didnt know till lunchtime today )

Mo - I'd love to take ds to balamory (is it Talamory or something like that in real life?)

martini - I know what you mean about DH not wanting place like nursery, mine's the same - spoil sports.

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 23/11/2007 14:23

Hiya fruiy

According to MN Towers there is a technical problem at the moment.

Balmory is really Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, West coast of Scotland.

HTH

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 23/11/2007 14:41

Yes, Balamory is Tobermory. They film for two weeks twice a year, although I think they've stoppped filming it now. It was a sheer fluke that we decided to take a trip to Mull whilst staying in Oban and we all had a lovely day! We drove round the corner to see Balamory and we just couldn't help but sing, 'can you see all the different coloured houses!' We went with Kbear and her lot.
