how long for? my friends son did 3 hours and i gave him a tenner, hes 14

£5 an hour is generous, so you could get away with £4. Or agree a flat sum for the evening, assuming you know what time you'll be back.

I pay my dd1 a fiver for the whole evening when we go out, or £10 if she does some housework as well.

I pay my 16 year old neighbour 10 for the evening. He doesn't have to do anything really. The chilren are in bed by the time he arrives and I strongly suspect that if they woke up he would get his mum round to sort it out for him

i give mine £20 for the evening. she is 15 and her mum is just across the road if there is a problem
