Hi I don't work christmas holidays so won't be paid for the christmas period as it's my choice not to be available. I do charge extra after 6pm but only £1 more per hour(but that's cos I'm soft and need to toughen up more!)

but if i was available i would charge normal fee's unless it's a bank holiday (which again i don't work)

Thanks for that... I have been charging time and 1/2 after 6pm so glad its normal to charge bit more. The only week I want off is the week of christmas which will only be 5 days so I guess I should only not be paid for this week, if i do not have mindee any other time I should get paid.

i charge half fees for my hols, full fee for theirs, but as we're all(mostly) off over christmas i only charge half, but this really would have needed to be stated in your contracts from the start otherwise they can dispute it now?

i'm charging half-rate over xmas period

bank hols i charge half-rate anyway and parents have decided to take xmas eve and new years eve off as holiday which i charge half-rate for too - so we are all happy as i really didn't want to work them!!!

also i charge an extra £1 p/hour before 8 and after 5pm but am scrapping that in new year
