{{{{{{{{{ELLIE}}}}}}}}}}}

Personally I would trun it down but I would say its nice to ease yourself into it, getting a ft'er for 10hrs day to start would be a bit much BUT say as she is taking up a whole place you will have to charge her a min of £x per day plus pick up fee and also make her aware that IF someone does come along wanting more hours either she will have to match what they would pay or lose the place. (seems harsh but with our limited numbers = limited pay and we don't earn enough as it is imo) as long as you have been up front in the first place it should be ok.

Funny hours though aren't they? You may be able to fill the afternoon space. Plus how old is she will you have to buy an extra car seat etc?

LoveMyGirls · 15/11/2007 16:06

Not ignoring anyone btw, thanks for replying on my thread.

As an aside but linked, out of interest what do you do about the bath thing if they are in a mess because that's how they were when they arrived iyswim?

Hennipenniinapeartree · 15/11/2007 16:08

Looney sorry to hear about your DH

Had a lovely dy today, went to toddler group and then after nursery pickup took all 3 to feeed the ducks at the local park, baby (well toddler officially as just started to walk) slept through it. Mindee2 is traumatised as goose wanted the bread out of her hands (and got it) and mindee 3 turned round and came face to face with an enormous swan! went for a brisk crisp walk after this to calm them down but they both said they enjoyed it.

Ellie {{{{hugs}}}} So stressful isn't it! I wasn't even trying that long so I can only imagine how it must be for you - when do you get the results? As for the enquiry.....I PERSONALLY wouldn't take that job but only because I don't get part day enquiries so would have whole week stuff with afternoon slots free. Some people do well out of part days though and if I could get that business where I am, I'd take it but charge for whilst they are at nursery as no way could I fill those hours. DEFINITELY wouldn't do it for just though hours charging as the numbers are limited as LMGs said.

LMGs - After what you've told me, I definitely would bath if I could!!!

Henni - thanks. As for your feeding the ducks - that happened once ages ago when I was with ds and mindee, pretty scary!!

Right, off to see if flapjacks have cooled - I want them NOW!!!

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 15/11/2007 16:23

p.s. Ellie - meant to say the rushing about you get used to, I'm in out in out in out with groups in between but I must admit, I can't wait for ds to start school in Jan (although very and will miss him) so I don't have to do the nursery pick up!!

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 15/11/2007 16:40

Oh god, so want to sit down and read all the posts, but I've got mindees making snowflakes and they need me! I'll be back when they eat their tea at 5'sh!

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 15/11/2007 17:17

If you have ever had a new certificate due to your child turning 1, 5, 8 etc, please can you help me on this thread?

Thanks

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 15/11/2007 17:25

Phew! Dinner is served! We've just made loads of snow flakes and guess where all the tiny bits of paper are that we cut away? I may need to hoover when they've gone home! Neither of the boys knew how to fold a peice of paper and make a snowflake. They were in ore of the first one I made and then it got a bit silly!

Ellie > So sorry you're struggling with ttc. Good vibes your way for next month. I wouldn't take a part timer like that either and I'm the queen of part timers! All mine are, but those hours are just to inconvenient.

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 15/11/2007 18:41

I ate too many flapjacks and the sugar had gone to my head - ouch!

LOONEYplayingachristmasTUNEy · 15/11/2007 18:43

Mo - wish I could remember how to do snowflakes!!! I can't remember how to get the string of people right either - whenever I do it they are not joined up boo hoo

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 15/11/2007 18:55

Fold a square of paper into quarters and then into a point. Cut a bit of a curve along the open end iyswim (I could do with a 'draw' facility for this!) and then just cut shapes out of the sides. Open it up and its a snowflake!

nannynick · 15/11/2007 19:06

Snowflake - for diagrams.

How long does a pair of glasses last when working with children? Answer I got today was: 19 months. As my bendable glasses broke today - I have now hunted out my spare (non-bendable) glasses, and ordered some more bendable glasses from GlassesDirect.

Driving home this evening I looked a bit like Harry Potter - with selotape holding my glasses together.

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 15/11/2007 19:08

Sure you don't mean Jack Duckworth!

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 15/11/2007 19:13

I've just bagged myself an easy day tomorrow. Got my early one tomorrow, so I'm always bushed by teatime, but her mums just phoned to say she's got a stinking cold and just wants to sit on the sofa all day, so she wouldn't bring her. I know how difficult it is for her to juggle work, so like the good cm I am, I said, 'well luckily for you, I've only got yours tomorrow, so if she wants to snuggle on the sofa with me, thats fine!' Mindee was happy with that, and is bringing Joseph & his coat to watch over and over and over! Can't wait! Blankets and comfort food all day!

fruitloop79 · 15/11/2007 19:22

good evening you lot,

just dropped off mindee, DS bathed and watching simpsons

DB arrived home from work with stuffed crust pizzas and vienetta!!!!! anyone want some?

fruitloop79 · 15/11/2007 19:25

oh yeah, AND he's got the day off tomorrow so is doing DS school drop off in morning, so no rushing around!

Well not the usual rushing round anyway - promised my 8 yr old mindee I'd go and see her in her assembly. Should be interesting with a 14 month old and an 18 month old! at least i wont have DS with me too!
