Thinking about going back to work and need to do some sums-how much does a childminder cost? Am in Lanarkshire in Scotland. x

ChildcareLink alas is mostly for England.

For Scotland you want www.scottishchildcare.gov.uk/

North Lanarkshire Childcare Information Service
Tel: 01236 812281 Email: [email protected]
Childcare Search : North Lanarkshire

South Lanarkshire Childcare Information Service
Tel: 01698 727 939
Childcare Search : South Lanarkshire

Just did a very quick search purely on town: BLANTYRE - there rates seem to be £2.50-£3.50 per hour, though daily and weekly rates are also listed.

Use rates as a guide. Best to contact a few local childminders and ask them - as information on databases can be out dated.

Just spotted that the ChildcareLink website is actually now working and going through to the Scottish Childcare (but only if you click the map - doesn't seem to like a search for a Scottish town!).
