Thought I'd share this info I got a message about from Au Pair World that apparently you can now have a British or Irish au pair, presumably the gov has allowed this as a stopgap when they finally realised lack of free movement might create a childcare issue. Luckily our kids are now old enough (and nights out still a way off) that I don't think we'll need one again ourselves, but thought it might be useful for others to know.
