Is my child eligible for 15 free hours this term?

I am a little confused. Our council (Hampshire) summer term starts Monday 19th April.

Children are entitled to 15 free hours the term after their 3rd birthday.

My son's 3rd birthday is April 12th (a week before)

However the gov website says the term starts April 1st.

I presume the 'term' will be from April 1st? (Can you hear the desperation in my voice Grin)

No. Cut off is 31st March. I have an April baby and had to suck it up!

We had early April babies and we had to wait for September too Envy

The terms are set for this purpose - 1st April. Funding won’t be till September.

It's dividing the year into fixed chunks, so everyone is the same, regardless of if a setting opens a couple of days earlier or later than the one down the road.

Ah I thought so. Was totally clutching at straws!
I did email the nursery and they said my son would be eligible for this term. But I think they must be mistaken 😩
