Going round in circles - can someone help me?

I am returning to work soon, having had a rather blissful couple of months off.

I will be working full time with a day at home, rising to two days at home once I am settled in the role. DP also works f/t but is looking at possibilites of going down to 4 days.

I am trying to sort out childcare and am rather stuck with what I should go for. My new employers are being flexible re: hours worked - I will have an hour's commute each way.

So my options might be:

Start work early - in which case I need to be out of the house just before 7, dp just before 8. This would mean getting home just after 5.00. Dp gets home about 4.30.

Start work late - in which case I will still need to leave the house at 8.20 - this leaves around 20 minutes still before the kids leave for school . I would not get home until after 7 in this scenario.

So as far as I can see we will need childcare at both ends of the day for a very short amount of time, for possibly three days to start with, possibly decreasing to two.

What would you do in this situation?

Childminder. You'll be suprised how many cm's will be happy to fit in around you, if they have the space. Contact your council, to get a list of cm's in your area and go from there. HTH.
