StrawberryMartini · 05/11/2007 12:44

Gee it's quiet in here! Has everyone frozen solid?!

OK two questions:

  1. Is it ok to take mindees to Tesco? it's not for a big shop - just a few things. Thought it would be a good learning experience. And it's too cold to go to a park!
  1. I have a doctor's appointment later on and my friend has said she'll sit in the waiting room with my mindees while I nip in and see the doc. Is this ok? They both know her.

Ta!

Looney how are you today?

mumlove · 05/11/2007 12:52

Happy luchtime everyone, mindees have been fed and watered, now it's time for mine.
Strawberry - I would do what you have ask about, every now and again it's good for them.

MamaG · 05/11/2007 12:53

Hello everybody, quite week we have lots of nasty bugs flying around so have some mindees off ill.

SM it is ok to take mindee to Tescos- as you say it can be a good learning experience.

I hve taken mindees to Docs and Hospital appointments with me but I always take them into the consulting room with me.

looneytune · 05/11/2007 13:08

Hi everyone

Strawbs - I'm fine thanks, had terrible indigestion over the weekend, been feeling quite sick and extremely tired but all good signs - symptoms are back!! Only bad thing is (won't go into details in case people are having lunch ) that since straining this morning, I have had pains low down and did have a tiny bit more bleeding but not much. I've just got to stop being paranoid!!! In answer to your question....Tesco is fine if not big shop, Dr's....errrr......well we're not supposed to, I've only ever left mindee with someone once if parent agreed but maybe others do? I've got midwife a week on Tuesday with the 2 sisters and would love to have someone to sit with mindees but even if I could find someone, I'm not sure.....maybe I'll ask their mum.

MI - sorry you're not well

Megsdaughter · 05/11/2007 13:45

Hello everybody, God what a morning, its been sooooooooooooo busy, then took schoolie 1 for her Hib injection, which we couldnt have done as she got in such a state, Dad is going to take her next week,

Megsdaughter · 05/11/2007 13:46

MaureenMLove · 05/11/2007 13:58

Afternoon all! Been too busy this morning with other internet things to do MN! No mindees today, apart from school drop off, 2 have changed their day til tomorrow. Been booking a train for DH, he's going to Bradford for 4 days next week. Sunday til Thursday! I'm I right to be so excited about the p & Q! And a Sunday night too! I'm always mega knackered on Sundays and feel I can't slope of to bed at 7! Not this Sunday though! Got a big firework party this Saturday night too and Remembrance Church Parade on Sunday, early. yuk!

SM - I have always taken my mindees to the shops. You're right, it is a learning experience. Dear I say it, its what being in a home setting is all about! I have taken mindees to the drs with me too, but checked it with parents first.

MaureenMLove · 05/11/2007 14:00

Oh sorry, forgot MamaG (probably because we have no gifts!) Where you been? Was it during term time, I wonder?

StrawberryMartini · 05/11/2007 14:33

Can anyone help me on this thread?

MaureenMLove · 05/11/2007 15:43

Hellooooo!

saltire · 05/11/2007 16:37

I just thought I'd let you all know I started my new job toady.
No, not childminding, it's in Boots, 20 hours a week until Christmas - I need some cash!

MaureenMLove · 05/11/2007 18:42

Good for you! At least it gt you through to January, when you might be able to mind again.

MaureenMLove · 05/11/2007 18:48

Oh, there was a reason I came in here in the first place. I thought I'd tell you about what Imade with my Rainbows tonight. We called them edible sparklers, but they don't need to be.

We simply dipped the tip of chocolate fingers in hot water, to let the chocolate melt slightly and then rolled the melted ends in hundreds and thousands. Thats it really! Just thought I'd tell you because they were easy, pretty mess free and fun! Ifound it on the Rainbow website if you're interested in any other fun things, for the littlies. Addy is girlguiding.org.uk and follow the link for Rainbows!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 05/11/2007 21:58
