Hiya Mo !

I've brought bacon butties. The question is -
ketchup or brown sauce?

Busy day yesterday, full-on minding til 5pm then dash to Woolies with my boys before Tesco run then out to a party-plan thingy with my girlfriends, lots of lovely Christmassy stuff.

Phew.

One mindee this morning, not here yet, then two more pre-scoolers this afternoon.

I heart my job

MaureenMLove · 30/10/2007 10:12

Monring m'dear! I was begining to think I had been sent to Coventry because of my desire to get the hell out of this job! Red sauce for me please.

Just got one mindee until school time, then after schoolies. Got DH working from home too, so its hard work, because mindee just wants to constantly say hello to him and go and see him in his office!

Got to go to a maths master class with dd at her secondary school tonight! Bit scared, not quite sure my maths is what it used to be and its at my old school too!

Right, I really am starting to get a complex now! I need questions answering!

Hows Looney today?
Where's Meg disappeared to?
How's Saltires registration coming on?
How is DMO and her niece?
What is SM famous hamster called and has he had a settling in period?

Hello everyone,

Thanks for your support yesterday, am trying again today so we'll see how it goes........more support welcome!

Mindee is behaving well so far this week - ok yesterday we had crayons on wall, pinching and hitting but it still wasnt as bad as it has been recently.

MissInvisible · 30/10/2007 12:26

MissInvisible · 30/10/2007 12:30

stealthsquiggle · 30/10/2007 12:41

Mo, when you have a minute - new cake on my profile and I would welcome the benefit of your wisdom on cake pricing/marketing. I will do my best to help with application forms in return

mumlove · 30/10/2007 13:10

Afternoon, we have had a busy and noisy morning at music tots, now going to have a hot coffee as the one I had this morning enued up cold. People mention cakes adn I go looking only to find a giraffe instead. You can keep the bacon butties as I don't eat them but do have some nice gummy halloween sweets to share.
MI - I have been printing off the colouring sheets but cannot find a nice pumpkin one.

MissInvisible · 30/10/2007 13:27

try these, not 'nice' pumpkins, but spooky ones

MissInvisible · 30/10/2007 13:39

SpooKAYsamuels · 30/10/2007 13:46

Hi everyone! After my bad start to the morning everything worked out ok in the end! I have two sibling mindees (3 and 7) starting tomorrow, the other cm in my neighbourhood lent me two contracts - I was so relieved I could have hugged her! Came home from schoool, went through contracts, then dashed off to playgroup, then long walk home!

Just been looking at that craft site too - spooky!

stealthsquiggle · 30/10/2007 13:46

halloween craft stuff

LoveMyGirls · 30/10/2007 13:59

Both are sleeping.ahhhhhhhh!!!!!

Anyone have a good choc cake recipe I can have please? Dd1 is coming home tomorrow so was hoping to make a home coming cake with mindee's this afternoon. Needs to be easy peasy as I'm not the worlds greatest at making cakes. I don't have an electric whisk either only a hand one, i've got a blender thingy though, will that work?

MaureenMLove · 30/10/2007 13:59

OK, I'm sorry if I missed anyone off my list, it was a selection of things that need answering! No-one seemed to take me seriously though. When someone disappeared last week, she had her own thread!
Its a good job I'm not a sensitive little bunny!

Now then, Squiggle. Love the cake. I would charge £20 for one like that and £25 for one with more building in it, like the fairy castle. Although one lady insisted on paying £35 for the horses in the stable one and has paid me that for every cake I've done since. I think that unless you seriously want to do it full time and start buying in bulk, then you aren't going to make much from selling them. People just won't spend that much on a cake where we live, so there's no point in trying.

Pumpkins here for the rest of you ladies. I use this site quite a lot for my Rainbows, loads of things to get ideas from there.

LMGs - well done

Mo - you ok hun? Who and what thread? (not with it so maybe it's obvious and I'm just being a bit slow )

Hi to everyone else.

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 30/10/2007 14:04

dmo - I really hope your neice continues to improve, how long is she expected to be in for? Gosh, you've done great with those ticket sales, well done you!

MaureenMLove · 30/10/2007 14:09

Don't panic LT, there was no thread! I was being sarcastic! I'm perfectly fine and dandy. If a bit panicy that I'm going to learn Yr7 advanced maths with dd tonight at her new school. Which btw, just happens to be my old school and half the teachers are still there! They must be soooo old, I left in 1984!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 30/10/2007 14:10

Can I just have a moan actually.......as a lot of you know, I had the scan on Friday. My friend (got to be careful as a mumsnetter) looked after ds. I went to pick him up after the hospital and was a bit overwhelmed by her having friends and their kids there - I just wanted to get out (bit embarrassed as clear I'd been crying). Anyway, I emailed my friend later that day as was worried because they go to toddler group and may chat to double pay baby's mum who goes on a Monday. My friend said don't worry, I'm sure they wouldn't say anything. So there's me thinking, great, she told them what it was all about . Guess what....went to toddlers yesterday and one of the ladies was there and started talking to me - turns out she knows my dh from old work. Anyway, next thing double pay baby's mum arrives and because she's chatting to me, she was chatting to this other lady. Now I know I'm probably being paranoid but I'm worried they will get talking and this will get out and then if baby is not ok, she'll know I'm clearly planning on a baby DH is fuming about this and I don't blame him, there was no need for my friend to say anything......oh.....i feel bad now, my friend has just emailed saying her cat was put to sleep this morning

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 30/10/2007 14:12

Mo - I'm not quite on the ball lol Oh, good luck with the maths, I'm SOOOOO not looking forward to this school stuff!!! Oh, it will be a laugh seeing your OLD teachers though!

Oh.....did you see my update on other thread about BBC news reporter???

stealthsquiggle · 30/10/2007 14:29

Mo - Thanks. That's what I thought - I will stick to making them for friends for now, but at least I have an idea of price as other people are starting to ask...
