Nanny/chef couple unemployable?

Hi, I am a career nanny and my boyfriend is changing his career to become a professional chef. I have seen plenty of ‘domestic couple’ roles’ just in general of people wanting to hire a couple to cover a variety of roles.

These roles are mainly all rounder/ chef. Or nanny and all rounder. None seem to be nanny/ chef. However a lot of families who hire nannies also have chefs so maybe it’s likely we won’t be hired as a pair but as individuals for the same family?

We aren’t looking for roles right now but just looking around on indeed and not seeing any that would suit both of us.

In the future it would be our ideal to work for the same family on a rural estate having our own separate accommodation (cottage would be ideal). Staying with this family for 15+ years, being able to have pets and children during our time working for them. I know with any role where you work for a private household it’s a bit of luck with finding a perfect fit but just wondered if anyone thinks this is completely unreasonable and a pipe dream!

I have friends who employ in their own home several nannies and two chefs who rotate their shifts to work alongside each other within the household. They are live-in. Presumably you have seen these roles in The Lady?

They do still exist but do seem to be rare. A lot of them seem to want chauffeurs which need to be trained in security too so might that be a consideration? (Institute of Advanced Motorists qualified & ex Army)

You may need to be on some agents books ready to go for when roles come up.
