CM Club: Feeling a bit under pressure

Have a child I care for, mum wants her to go to a particular nursery.

I cannot pick up or drop off at the nursery as I already do a different nursery/school.

I am being made to feel guilty because either child will have to get used to a new minder or go to a nursery her mum doesn't want.

I know I am right - but I do feel a bit pressured

You are right!!! God, I had to give notice once because ds was starting a nursery in totally opposite direction and couldn't do both. Nothing I could do, felt bad but had to be done as no choice

I just don't get parents, too many of us have to put up with a lot of crap like this. WTF makes her think she has a right to make you feel guilty??? Does she think you can be split in 2 FFS?

I know - but that doesn't stop me feeling guilty, does it?

You can't be in two places at the same time.
As a childminder, you are talented - but not that talented As with any mortal - your body does not function well if cut in half

If the mum want's to keep you as minder, then she will have to decide on a different nursery (from which you can collect). If nursery is more important to mum, then so be it. She then needs to find a new minder.

As a parent once said to me - you need to learn to say NO. If someone asks you to do something that makes life very hard, if not impossible, learn to say NO... and try not to feel guilty. If you could help, you would. But you can't. Nothing you can do about it... you can't cut yourself in half!
