How do I go about finding a childminder?

I am sure there are lists of childminders available on websites as I remember looking at one for the area where I used to live (though the list was not complete I remember as my excellent childminder was not on it). But I can't remember what site that was.

I may need a childminder for January. Please advise me of how to go about finding one!

Go to your County Council website, and search for Childcare. Ours (Norfolk) eventually provides a list - but it's only those childminders who want to be on the list, IYSWIM, so it won't necessarily be complete.

Thank you Hassled. Off to try that now.

Thanks hassled, and yes HelBels, that is the site. I got to it via the local council. So thanks to both of you.
