Anyone else had problems with Care 4?? Childcare vouchers??

My ds goes to a childminder twice a week, and I pay through Care 4.

I set up a payment schedule, and the first few payments went through fine.

Then one didn't go into account. Care 4 said there was a problem with the sort code, which was weird as nothing had changed. They sent the payment again and it finally arrived in my childminders account.

This week, it's happened again - no money in childminders account, despite it having left mine. Five weeks have passed since the last problem, and the money has gone in fine during that time, and again, nothing has changed with account etc.

Childminder is getting understandably pi**ed off, but I don't want to stop using them, as they save me £80 a month.

I do give her the cash as soon as she realises it hasn't gone in, and she pays me back when it eventually clears.

Anyone else had problems??

I can't help but just thought this would bump the thread - I use care 4 but not for regular payments I do it every week as a one off and haven't had any problems - not much help to you but I hope someone can help you out

I think they also have a tie in so you have to use them for a year??? or that could just be my company... just a thought in case they are rubbish and you want to stop or switch

I've been receiving part of my pay through care4 for the past year. The only problem I had was when the account was first set up and they sent me the application forms out 5 times.

I would get on the phone to them and have a moan.

I'm not really sure your childminder has much of a right to be pi**ed off as you are still making sure she is paid on time even though it's not you fault.

Hope you get sorted soon.

DS' nursery haven't been paid for 5 mths thanks to Care 4, firstly they didn't send us a pin number to access the account and now they have sent the money gawd knows where!?

Insywincy - that's a really good point - there is a tie in, isn't there - I'd forgotton that.

That could make life very difficult if my childminder refuses to take payments fromt hem in the future, as she is threatening to do - Arhhhh!!!

Janet, I'm glad you think she may be being a little unreasonable - I think so too - I know it's a pain, but as you say, it's not my fault either and she's always had the money in cash within a couple of hours of her telling me it hasn't gone in. that obviously puts me out of pocket too, as I effectively pay twice until it's sorted.

Washer - that sounds a nightmare too!

i think I must keep hassling care 4 to get a grip!!!

Thanks for your responses - any more gratefully received.
