this is for next spring

my kids
8.5
2.5
1

mindee 1
2.5
mindee 2 (sibling)
6 months

will apply for variation as we live very remote and there is no other childcare for miles around, also for continuity, mindee 1 has been coming since he was 6 months.
(I have been told by two different inspectors that it should be do-able)

the todlers will potentially have 1 or two nursery sesions per week, and child care will only be neede for three days per week (although flexible)

I currently have
8
2
2
5 months
and I enjoy it very much.

do any of you childminders do similar numbers/ages?

how does it work for you?

I guess you are all busy minding atm....
mine are all asleep
will bump tonight perhaps.

I keep doing that. must stick to one name in future.

Megsdaughter · 12/10/2007 13:52

Hehe I did that yesterday!

I have 3 under 19 months than a 5 and 6 year old, it works, have had a 5 month two 2's and a 3 year old before (3 year old and baby were siblings) mine were all full timers as well. It can work well, but knackering.

Hi

I'm really sorry, I'm a bit lost with where the extra comes in? Oh.....is it the 6 month old sibling? If so, variation will be no probs anyway with it being a sibling

As far as those ages go, it'll be fine I haven't had over 5's since I very first started minding but the under 5's seem great to me and if you're already used to the ages and it's just an extra 6 month old then I think you'll be just fine.

I've got 5 under 5's from Jan and am not at all worried about the children - it was the car seats giving me a headache!! (btw, the 5 under 5's are all legal - promise!!)

I guess it depends on kids and your stamina levels. Have done it with similiar ages tho of you 2.5 was a 3.5 for me. only had one day a week where had normal amount of kids in the day time. My brood at the mo are 0.6, 1.6, 3, 3.6 and 4.6 and 4.6 and 4.3, obviously that 7 so it legal as 3.6 not there when 4.3 is after school. Yes I am a little busy but its a wonderful world of little people and their all inclusinve roleplay situations are fantastic to watch. Guess it depends on how idepentent they are, my 2.0 was potty trained so one less botty to change. can they do their own shoes, coats etc, feed themselves, if not might be worth working on those skills a bit early if poss.
