State your preference MissInvisible, Love it or Hate it! (Sorry, we're all a bit lively this morning!)

MissInvisible · 08/10/2007 10:23

no, the halloween version and previously was strawberrysnowflakes but everyone kept telling me off cos they thought i wa sally strawberry, gues im just not very thoughtful when it comes to giving myself a new name!

MissInvisible · 08/10/2007 10:23

oh sorry, marmite.neevr tried it!

Ghostashoshabuster · 08/10/2007 10:29

I have started a Marmite thread across the board

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 08/10/2007 11:33

Sorry I disappeared, ds is getting worse out of his bottom so I informed parents I won't be working tomorrow and have been stuck on the phone trying to sort childcare. I've found 2 childminders for the sisters and left the mum with the phone numbers to sort it out - she was fine, very grateful - I think I turned things round by standing up for myself! I've got toddler with a minder I see regularly at groups plus kids she knows as she's going through a clingy stage so thought was best. The baby mindee will go to a minder I don't really know but our support minder told me to try her so I left it with mum to decide - I don't want the responsibility!

Pinkchick - whats up hun?

Right, I've been in my PJs since Friday night (YUCK) coz I've been so rough. Time I jumped into the shower and sprung into action - I've got a LOT of washing to do now, more clothes ds has messed and of course bedding etc!

Hopefully I'll be able to swallow a marmite crumpet with a cuppa after

MaureenMLove · 08/10/2007 12:07

Poor old ds LT, hope he feels better soon. Its draining at the best of times, but when you're not feeling 100% yourself, its even worse.

I want to know who 'dissed' your name Pinkchick. I like it and although MissInvisable is a great name, it kinda makes you sound shy and wall flowerish!

I've just had the most amazing good luck! I've always wanted a piano, but never got round to it. We have the space, so imagine my luck when this happened! Whats the odd eh?

LoveMyGirls · 08/10/2007 12:30

Lucky you MML!!!! Must be your lucky day!

LT - can't be long to go now chick and you'll all be better xx (says me who was ill only the other week and is now sat sipping beechams cold and flu!)

I've hada bit of a morning this morning and full of cold as well!
First was getting everyone out of the car to go to toddler group when my boot wouldn't open, i tried for ages but no luck (maybe central locking is knackered - who knows, anyway so i'm in the back of the car trying struggling to pull the single buggy out when a posh looking lady comes over to the window and points at the sign in my car (childminder vacancies) great!! I'm thinking couldn't have caught me at a better moment (turns out she wanted someone on other side of town so was relieved I didn't have to see her again as i felt a bit silly but gutted because the work would have been good.) Then we go to toddlers and mindee's nappy leaks on the one day i havent taken spares with me!! so he had to go back to the car covered in his coat. Then somehow when paying for the ticket i cut my finger so had to try getting everything back in the car without covering it in blood and the sodding car boot still wont open!

MaureenMLove · 08/10/2007 12:42

Blimey LMG, it sounds like you're having the kind of day I had on Friday, although I could open the boot, just not close it! We've stayed in tday. Both mindees have snotty noses and the weather ain't great, so I opted for singing and dancing in doors today!

VooJu · 08/10/2007 13:17

Afternoon all

These back-to-school bugs are grim, we've not had it yet but all had the lovely strep throat a fortnight ago. sigh.

2 mindees today, baby plus pre-schooler. We've been to P and T group and now they are sleeping bless.

Have a good afternoon

hennipenni · 08/10/2007 13:37

Hennipenni swoops into staff room with a HUGE jr of marmite for the marmite lovers, how dare people not like it? it's just not on

Well these bugs have certainly taken hold here chez hens, just got over a stonker of a cold and woke up this morning with yet another sore throat, DD3 has a virus which is upsetting her well managed asthma and, bless mindee one toay as she had to go home as wasn't right- nothing that i couild idenify but wasn't at all herself, bonus being that i got a lovely snuggly cuddle from her before her mum picked her up!

Earthymama · 08/10/2007 13:59

Off this week as I have shingles and an ear infection. I'm really worried that everyone will manage perfectly well without me and give notice.

I was supposed to be on an active ad/recruiting drive now, why does it all go wrong?

Going back to bed though I'll have to clear the toast and Marmite crumbs

Before I go, have you seen this offer? I've bought 5 dishwasher tubs and 4 laundry tubs for under £20, with free delivery.

fifilou · 08/10/2007 14:03

Hello!

I've been sitting in my own staffroom and no-one came in so i came here.

boo-hoo.

hows you all?

I'm much better- back to work today, feeling sore and in a bit of pain but nothing major.

I came back to an upside down house- but they have managed not too badly without me.

I've been wroking hard getting everything back to normal today- am shattered after 2 and a half wks bedrest!

Ghostashoshabuster · 08/10/2007 14:42

ello fifi nice to see you ear

[are the jokes wearing a bit thin now ]

MaureenMLove · 08/10/2007 15:26

eeek! You know I said earlier that I'd had a stroke of luck with a piano. (See link further down!) Well just been chatting with Kbear and she remembers being on a thread with her and she lives 2 streets away from me and her kids go to the same school as all my mindees! MAD! Of all the people on here and I was the first one to spot her thread!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 08/10/2007 16:08

Ds hasn't had an episode since about 11.30am so fingers crossed! I'm not counting my chickens just yet though as I thought he was getting better yesterday.

Mo - great news about the piano. I see these sometimes on freecycle and wish I had the room! (used to play from age 4-11). How mad that you are so close though - you probably see each other in RL and didn't even realise!

LMGs - it must be catching.....I had that week from hell, you know, the one with the badly cut finger along with everything else!! Then Mo had her bad Friday and now you!!

Sorry.......got to rush so no time to respond to any more but [hello] to those I haven't mentioned - ds in desperate need of help with his hot wheels track (well, home made one with lots of tubes, carboard and a paper plate with hole in the middle - it's actually bloody brilliant!!! (even filmed it to put on Facebook so Nana can see

MissInvisible · 08/10/2007 22:02

Hi again, i have had the shtiest day, one here this morn all fine(well not fine but computer was fine), thought should i leave it switched on while i do school run(30minround trip) or turn off?, our electricity bill is sky high so i thought be a good girl, turn it off.
Got back came up after unch to print out some printables for mindee and the WHOLE system was gone, nothing, could get past the black screens and white writing..had one of my mindees dads round tonight to look at it and i have lost every single one of my pictures of dd/mindes/friends wedding in cyprus/dd's first day at school, EVERYTHINg from the past 18 months, all my cm t&c's(although i have hard copies, but now will have to put them back on here to print off adequatly), friends email address's, emails from dp's father who he ahsnt seen in 30 odd years..Everything..i feel absolutely gutted..and yes i should have backed the hotos up, im f
cking stupid, but i had so many i never got the time to go through them all, just been doing them altely bit by bit

MissInvisible · 08/10/2007 22:04

oh yeah, i am back as dp managed to get it going again by doing a complete re-voot which is why all this stuff has gone, but if it was a virus, it would prob have removed it all anyway

Ghostashoshabuster · 08/10/2007 22:06

oh chick, that happened to me earlier in the year. I know its to late now, but buy yourself a memory card and put your busines on it, back it up every time you invoice.

I've learnt to do this.

All my photos now go straight onto a external hard drive.

MissInvisible · 08/10/2007 22:11

i have loads of discs full of early pics of dd, but the last 18 months i 'never got round too', but to give you an example, in the alst week i have taken 717 pictures!, thast how many i uploaded last night, so gives you an idea of how many ive lsot in 18months
we haev only just been tlaking about getting memory card / buying the discs agina etc

Ghostashoshabuster · 08/10/2007 22:20

My work memory card is kept stuck to my tower so I dont forget to update it.

And the photos go straight to the external hard drive so they are safer as well, all the ones of DS wedding and special ones are on another memory card, I bought them on ebay for £10.00 each for 2gb size.

Makes me feel better now, but cant replace the ones I lost.

Have any others who we at the wedding got some you can have.

The other thing to do is to download them all on to something like flikr or snapfish.

I use snapfish for my mindees ones so that the parents them.

MissInvisible · 08/10/2007 22:30

ooh shosh!, i forgot about snapfish!, i have two folders full on there.......off to search..can i download them back to my documents??.ah, but if theyre on snapfish, they are the ones ive already printed off arn't they?..bumped back down to earth
