Tax credits and childcare

Hi just looking for a little advice. I've moved from a job with set hours every week where my childminder is paid from 8.30-2.30. This allowed me just enough time to make it to and from work for drop off and pick up.
My new job isn't on set hours though my core times are generally 9-1 / 10-2 / 11-3. Four hours favour days a week. I've kept my childminder on the original hours as it keeps a better routine for toddler and my partner has started working round my hours so he can do pick up or drop off when I'm not available. Do I need to change my tax credits as I'm working 16 hours and he's in childcare 21 hours per week? Or can I keep it as is, as we are still paying 21 hours to cover my core hours??? Any advice would be great before I have to ring HMRC and confuse myself further

You declare what you pay for.
