Morning people. Long day ahead, mindee already been here 45mins and I cleaned and tidied downstairs before she got here too!

Going to do library time with my two littlies this morning and pop into the restaurant where DD & her mates are having dinner ALONE tonight! She's so excited, she's been up since 6! Got to deliver the cake to the restaurant for them to present after dinner. Its the make-up bag one on my profile, second from end, I believe.

FFS, paperwork, paperwork, paperwork - forget playing with the kids!!!

MaureenMLove · 05/10/2007 14:43

I'm having the worst flippin day ever! If it could go wrong, it did.

First put DD's new stereo together - didn't work. So instead of just dropping the cake off at the restaurant and going about my mindee duties, I had to go via Argos. Same town, but not that close when nearly 4 year old is walking. Parked close to the restaurant, mindee one had fallen asleep. Hate having to disturb sleepers, but got him in the buggy, (he was going to walk), balanced cake on top and mindee 2 holding buggy. Get round to restaurant, only to find it still closed! So, back to car, mindees back in and on the other car park to do Argos. Queue for 20 minutes, replaced stereo and out. Back to car, back to other carpark for cake. Restaurant didn't have booking! Looked at them like I was going to explode and they found me a table! Back to car, via Sainsburys for more icecream. Pay for ticket on route back to car, mindees in car, turn key in engine - nothing! Ran out of petrol (that was my next job!) Oh, also couldn't make boot shut! Phoned DH, he said 'Hi, what you up to!' I just dissolved, blubbing like a baby! Had to wait half hour for dh to come with petrol and tools and I had to go back to Sainsburys to get them to look after my iceceam and then explain to the man in the carpark, that although I'd paid for my ticket, I wasn't going anywhere! All sorted now.
I don't want to play anymore!

Ohhhh MML!!! Hope things get better as the day goes on!

{whispers.........this is why i dont work on birthday's, always more to do than you think and taking mindees everywhere when planning/ organising birthdays just make everything even more stressful}

MaureenMLove · 05/10/2007 14:53

Best laid plans I think they call it! I've had the last two days with just schoolies, so I was all organised! Should have unwrapped the stereo last week to check, but hey ho. Only one littlie and one school to go at 4, then I'll be straightening dd's hair with her new irons!

Oh Mo what a crapo friday your having!!!!

I'm childfree today! Going to pick up ds in a minute and hope he's not whinging this afternoon. I just don't have the energy for a grumpy 5 year old!!

bloodsuckinglooney · 05/10/2007 15:19

Oh MML - what a nightmare. Sometimes it's just one thing after another isn't it. As for blubbering......I'd be exactly the same!!!

Well, I've had the morning to myself today but got nothing sorted as had fall out with dh this morning and spent the morning blubbering about stuff then arranging to go to LMGs for the weekend - she's been FAB FAB FAB today . Been feeling ill and now I have a burning sore throat so I think I'm getting what the poorly baby has We've postponed (me and LMGs) meeting this weekend for several reasons and again, she's been lovely and understanding (looney has been a handful today....believe me ). But we're now planning it so we can have a night on the town when I have no germs

Now back from picking up pre-school mindee, popped to the garage on the way back to get a sarnie and teabags (couldn't eat earlier and no teabags and that's a tragic thing, especially with a sore throat!).

Ds and mindee now watching tv, I don't mind and mindees dad says she just likes to chill after being at pre-school since 8.45 so that's cool with me

Off to put the kettle on......anyone for a cuppa char???

bloodsuckinglooney · 05/10/2007 15:20

LMGs - this is for you to say thanks a lot for today

MaureenMLove · 05/10/2007 16:36

OK! I have breathing space! Mindees have gone home. DD is dressed and ready to go out already. Just waiting for the girls to do the makeup thing! Straightened her hair, although there is a small crack in the corner of the plate, but you know what, I don't care!

Mindees grandad was really mean to him when he picked him up. Quite rude actually. This is the mindee with the dreadful parental grandparents. He brought his bike this morning, to take to Dads for the weekend and his grandad said to him 'ride it then!' and he said 'I can't do it on pavement.' So the grandad said, 'Oh don't be so bloody stupid boy, all boys ride on pavement, you're being pathetic!' With in-laws like that, its no wonder his mother divorced his father!

Earthymama · 05/10/2007 23:23

You might all be in bed but just in case...as you might know I have been having bit of a stressful time, I have not felt as though I'm coping over the last few days.

Guess what I'm off to out of hours doctor to be checked for SHINGLES!

there's CP at DGS's school so it's very likely. Of course, MNers beat NHS Direct to a diagnosis. It's all in my hair, I thought I had nits the other day, now I have lumps in my hair..sore and hot and feel fluey.

Wish me luck and send virtual grapes please!!

LoveMyGirls · 06/10/2007 08:45

Oh EM you poor love, no you will have no choice but to get some well deserved rest! Let us know how you get on.

bloodsuckinglooney · 06/10/2007 10:25

Oh...how did you get on? Make sure you rest, you really need to get better before you start working again, you've got enough going on as it is!!!

Earthymama · 06/10/2007 14:40

I know it's Sat but hey, what the hell!!

Yes it is shingles, hopefully the anti-viral that's been prescribed will stop it being too bad.

I can't see my mum, and have to have this next week off. I need the rest so will give in with good grace, but one of mindees leaves on 21st October so I am really upset about that. He's such a lovely boy and we are good pals. His mother is a friend, she's having No3 in Nov, so I'll still be in touch but it's not the same is it?

I'm back up to bed now, really wish I had a laptop...won't be able to afford one now will I?

mumlove · 06/10/2007 14:45

EM i hope you start to feel better soon.
