I just had a email from a friend emigrated to NZ about 20 years ago.

Like me she was a young single mum, with a Ds, and as we were quite unsual back in the late 70's we hung around together.

Anyway when her Ds was 10 she married and they emigrated, but much to her and her new Dh sadness nevr managed to have any children, they could be given no reason, just never happened.

They were happy with her Ds and two years ago they were made grandparents.

Anyway to the reason for the email? Yesterday morning at 6.52 she gave birth to a baby girl, Rose Nicole, who is 29 years younger than her big brother!

They are ecstatic, although when I spoke to her at this morning she was still in shock

how fabulous (imagine what a shock it'll be getting used to nappies etc again - a welcome shock of course)

it's lovely that you've kept in touch all this time, and followed each other's lives.

Belgo we were Military children and you tens to leave friends behind alot, she was the only girl I went to school with alot (although she was two years below) every time we got posted she seemed to follow.

We were not close friends till we left school, and had our sons I married after having DS but divorced very rapidly, she was never married (and in those days it was still very frowned upon) so we stuck together,

Till the advent of internet when she emigrated it was very much a couple of letters a year, and Christmas cards.

Now we have MSN and I 'speak' to her most days its lovely!
