Tax Free Childcare

My daughter is starting nursery in September and we are entitled to tax free childcare which I want to utilise. I understand I need to set up an account. Can I set this up now in advance? I can't seem to find much information about the logistics of it online.

Yes I believe you can set it up as soon as the child is born and can start paying into it now to build it up if you wish.

www.gov.uk/get-tax-free-childcare

This link should give you everything you need to know about setting up an account.

Essentially you set up a bank account and pay money into it, then these are the bank details you give the nursery to pay for their fees. The govt adds 10% to whatever it costs to send your daughter to nursery, which is the “tax free” element. So you essentially just pay 10% less into that account than you normally would, and the govt tops up the remainder.

You should be able to set it up now.

It's 20%, not 10.

You have to be due to restart work in the next 31 days to apply I think, so you might be a bit early

I start work again in 14 days but her nan is having her during the holidays until 1st September.

Hello Friends.
Got a query regarding Child benefit form CH2.

Myself or my hus never claimed Child benefit, even though we were both eligible.

Trying to answer q12 and 13 on
assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/877959/Child_Benefit_Claim_form_-_English.pdf

Q12 - Have you claimed Child Benefit for any child(ren) before?
my answer is - No(then its asking me to skip Q13)

Q13- Are you currently entitled to Child Benefit?
this is confusing me .Here entitled means 'are you getting now child benefit? or are you eligible?'
I am guessing that the question was really about 'currently getting'..thats why it didnt allow me to go to Q13, once I said 'no' to Q12. I sit correct?

then further down in the form, its asking about partner in below question
Q- Is your partner entitled to Child Benefit now or are they
waiting to hear if they can get Child Benefit?

Really confused with answering this question.Because my partner is eligible to apply, but he hasnt used it at all.SO should I answer 'yes' to this or 'no' to this question.

Appreciate if any one can help .
