Ofsted childminders - toughening glass

Hi all

My husband and i are going through adopting assessments and we've just had our H&S walk round.
Our social worker has said we need to toughen our internal sliding patio doors and our older style conservatory/lean to.
She was quite unhelpful with advising how, but said they base their requirements to what childminders are required to do.

Can anyone help?

Thank you in advance

Not a childminder, but when we had our windows updated The company advised that the glass panel next to the front door was not safety glass so we replaced it.

Have a look at saftey film for glass.

We used safety film in our last house. You can get it from most DIY shops. The idea is that, should a child break the glass, the shards will stick to the film and not shatter all over the floor.

Thank you all, unfortunately with 2 sets of patio doors plus a whole lean to replacing the glass is not an option.
The film I had hear about. Is it the whole pane from top to bottom which needs covering or just the bottom half?

I would think you'd need to cover the whole door, just to be on the safe side.
