Childcare

key worker is leaving - Just need to get it off my chest

We've been living in sydney for eight months and we have four months left until we go home to the UK.

My daughter is 2 yrs 2 months and had a hard time adjusting and settling into a new nursery (fabulous nursery but took her 3 months to stop crying when I left her).

She's now very settled there but they've had two of their 5 main staff leave since May. Today I found out her absolute favorite member of staff is leaving and I'm so upset about it - the nursery has been a lifeline to us and this particular member of staff really took our daughter under her wing.

Has this happened to anyone else? Just felt I wanted to vent about how upset I feel - upset for my daughter's continuity of care more than anything else. Perhaps just feeling a bit vunerable on the other side of the world as well.

exactly pruners (ah yes, the passive birth thread - June 2005 as I recall - have aged ten years since then).

I think it's just that we have nobody here in Australia; no family to help us and a few friends but nobody we can really rely on.

The trust and continuity was the only thing we did have.

Thankfully only about 13 weeks until we leave for Britian anyway, so the issue will be one of a brand new nursery.

Groan.
