Does anyone know what the situation in Bournemouth is like, particularly in any areas in particular, just wondering if there's too many or not enough!

Hiya mate, no idea but thought I'd be nosey.....are you moving? I know JellyJelly was going to move to Bournemouth after getting married but as you know, that didn't work out. Did she accept your request to thingy? If so, maybe you could ask her if she has any idea? Just a thought.

They tell us that more are needed but I have never had a full complement so i'm not convinced. I'm in Poole though so Bournmeouth may be different.

I am in poole and in our local group we are all full or have as many mindees that we want, but I have no idea about Bournemouth. Have you tried looking here but not everyone is listed on there so it might be worth phoning them up and having a chat.

lt - no she hasn't tell her it's me i forgot to tell her it was!

I'm thinking of it, I love my job here and that but Bournemouth's actually my hometown, I only moved here for dh and now that's over... the problem I face now is cos of the floods there's NO houses, council, rental, anything, and it's a total pain.

Thanks everyone, up here there's far too many childminders so it looks like another positive.

You can use Ofsted's database to give you some idea of how many registrations there are in a particular area.

Based on BH2 6DY (Bournemouth Town Council's address), there are 283 childminders within a 5 mile radius of that postcode.

Based on BH10 4JA (St Mark's Primary School), there are 330 childminders within 5 miles, 34 of whom are within 1 mile (you need to manipulate the URL to get a radius of less than 5 miles).

If you live in Bournemouth, or are considering buying/renting a house somewhere there, then find the postcode, enter it at Ofsted's site, and see how many registrations are found.
To find postcodes, you can use www.Streetmap.co.uk and enter the town/area name, then click on the map to center it, and select Convert Coordinates to obtain an approximate postcode.
