Is anyone looking for an Au Pair in Austria or Switzerland?

Our lovely AP leaves us (Germany) on 11th November when her visa runs out, and wants to continue her German studies in Austria or Switzerland.
She is Kenyan, so needs a visa. She speaks excellent English and fair German.
She is very experienced with children and very good with them (we have 4), reliable, supportive and trustworthy.

For Switzerland she could look at www.aupair.ch/ , perhaps join this Yahoo discussion group and either post on Xpat Xchange for a position herself or join one of the agencies listed. She'd need a work permit though. hth

Is the work permit different from the visa, and do you have to get it before you come?

I think the Permit, which gives residency status and a right to work so possibly also described as a visa, would need to be in process for her to be able to move there ie. to rent an apartment if needs be , get a mobile phone , register with the Gemeinde, get Health Insurance etc, so effectively she'd probably need to have a job lined up first. EU citizens have some right to stay short term but they are stricter with non EU.

thank you for the offer - she is waiting to hear back from an Austrian family at the moment. Hopefully she'll be offered the job with them.
