Holiday Art Camp - questions

Srutter · 09/02/2020 12:45

I am a qualified primary school teacher looking to establish an engaging and fun holiday art camp for school holidays. I need your views as parents to help me find out if this is viable.

My goal would be to create a safe environment for children aged 5-11 to explore their creative side whilst creating meaningful pieces of artwork to be proud of.

I would appreciate it if you could fill in my questionnaire to help me understand what demand might be like!

Thank you! Smile

A TA at my old school does this, on the school premises I believe. Each day the kids do a different project and take it home, so it doesn’t matter if they did one day or a week. Think she runs it 9-4 for about £25 with an additional charge to arrive early or leave late.

My main concern (as a fellow teacher) would be - where do you find the energy to do this in the holidays!! I once ran booster groups before SATS for 3 mornings in half term and didn’t feel like I got to ‘recharge’ at all that holiday. Though I guess if art is your passion you may feel differently.

I’m actually taking a break from teaching.. I working in a secondary school covering lessons at the moment. People keep suggesting that I do tutoring, but my values don’t really align with that.
Thanks for the info about your former colleague - that’s helpful to know.
