Looking for a very occasional babysitter so I can go for a night out. Would probably work out so I would put DD to bed and just have the babysitter over until early morning.

What would be an appropriate price and where would I find someone wanting to do occasional work?

We found one recently. I asked through our local fb group and I’ve also asked the school WhatsApp group before now.
Around here it’s £5 an hour (more after midnight) for a 16 yr old. It’s £10 for a proper childminder type grownup.

In the past we had a preschool member of staff which was nice too as they knew the children already.

Oh I just read properly. What do you mean by early morning? 1am or 7am?

An agency like Sitters
People advertising as babysitters on local facebook/childcare.co.uk
Some childminders also do babysitting

Price will range from around £6 an hour for a local teen, to £10-£12 for a qualified, first aid trained nanny/childminder. Sitters has membership fees then you pay around £9 an hour to the babysitter.

I'm an Ofsted registered childminder and do some occassional evening babysitting for just a few families.

Those families have advertised on Facebook which is where we made our original introductions.

There are also baby sitting agencies like Sitters or Childcare who may be able to help.

Thank you, I'll take a look. Where abouts on Facebook would I post, do you have to search for a local group?

I'd be looking, say from 8pm until maybe 1pm.
