Ten Au pairs later

Posting a happy ever after story!

We've said goodbye to our 10th au pair, after 10 years.

Over the years I’ve been to au pair weddings, visited au pair families, been appointed honorary UK family and Godparents too!
We are still in touch with nearly all ten (thank God for social media) and it's great to see what they are up to.
It's been hardwork and there have been challenges but it's been mainly positive with great memories.

Good luck with your journeys – au pairs and hosts. Hope it’s a rewarding and positive experience on both sides.

We're on au pair number 2 and so far both so good. Hoping our experiences will be as positive as yours over time.

Our best one stayed for two years, and has since started working at the same company as DH and comes out to us for Sunday lunch every now and then so we still see him. Another one still lives in the same city and has been back to visit, but only occasionally. I miss having a cheerful, helpful, young person around the house but we really don't need one anymore.
