I am a pre school assistant and since sept My LB who is 2.5yrs currently comes with me to the pre school I work at. I only work 1 full day (Friday) and a morning (Thursday) he comes with me every Friday and sometimes the Thursday, depending on my husbands shifts.
He also goes a Monday morning without me.
The problem I'm having is that when he's with me on the Friday he is really hard work. He cries/tantrums regularly for me and it is making it hard for me to give other children my attention as I'm tending to him all the time.
I feel it's effecting my work, not letting him develop independence or friendships and my colleagues are finding it hard work too.
My manager is of the opinion that'll be grow out of it but I'm finding it embarrassing and exhausting. I'm thinking of moving him to another setting for the Friday session but the only ones that have Spaces are nurseries therefore 4x the price and it's so easy to have him with me as it's very local and I'm not worrying about finishing in time etc.
I would like to keep him at my setting for the Monday as they say he's doing really well without me.
Looking for opinions if you think I should persevere and keep him with me and in time he'll get used to it or move him, pay much more and less convenience for the Friday session.
