Yes getting excited here to, DD told mindees mum at drop off "we only have a week before going on holiday"
I just hope for nice weather next week as this week as gone very fast with being out most of the day.

Better get back to sorting things for todays outing, be back for a coffee later.

serves me right for giving dd the choice of which park to go to..i say A- the park with play area/ducks/ lots of grass or b-play area near cafe we like...dd, obv very clued up says park C and take the double buggy! meaning she doesnt want the 45 min walk there!..still it has lots of animals so theyll both love it

Morning! I've got a week and a half to wait for mine. I've just been flicking through last nights threads. I think I'm quite glad I switched off when I did, I'd have been awake all night on the Misdee/Peter thread. What a bummer.
Right, off to take mindee to footie, then going to cut the grass. Laters!

KaySamuels · 10/08/2007 09:10

Ooh bet you are counting down PC!

I have a whole day off as mindee is ill, so am gonna go on the train to Bridlington with DS, and have a nice day together. Need cheering up as found out 15m old boy not coming to me, have a little girl lined up, slightly less hours, but at least have a back up plan I guess.

MightyMoosh · 10/08/2007 12:53

Where is everyone going on holidays? I'm a bit nervous, I've never been on holiday before, I'm going with middle sister to New York in October. Only time abroad so far was working in Brussels, so doesnt count. Luckily new job is near Heathrow, as I wasnt looking forward to 7 hour coach trip from Newquay before the flight (poor sister still has to do it though)

hennipenni · 10/08/2007 15:17

Oh thank heavens it's friday! I really have had enough today, took 3 mindees, 3dds and their cousin out to the park, all behaved impeccably except for mindee2 (aged2)who really, really has pushed the boundaries today, not listening to me, being defiant, running around like a child possessed etc, etc, etc. Then to top it all I had an incident with mindee 3 on the way home (not naughty, meltdown etc)infront of his learning support assistant (think thats what she's called)involving a ball, the road and her car, luckily nobody was injured but I feel really shaken up by it all.

mogs0 · 10/08/2007 15:42

hp - that sounds bit scarey! At least it's friday!!

I've got no mindees today. Have been waiting in all day for a courier to deliver a part for my washing machine which has been broken since Friday. Landlady had booked a plumber to come and fix it this afternoon coz the part was supposed to be delivered this morning but the damn thing hasn't turned up so had to cancel plumber and the next available day I have is next Thursday so no washing machine for 2 weeks!!!! Luckily, there's a launderette down the road. May take mindees next week and teach them the art of launderette washing!!!!

My ds is driving me a bit crazy today too coz he's been indoors all day. We've been out so much the last couple of weeks I thought it'd make a nice change to be just chilling out at home but no he either wants to hang around my neck or wants food!!!!!

mumlove · 10/08/2007 15:56

Time for a large coffee.

Mogs - if you lived near me you could use my washing machine.

Moosh - I am going on holiday to Canada, to vist DH relatives. DD hasn't met all of them.

MaureenMLove · 10/08/2007 16:09

Oooo - I've had a hard day! Mindee arrived at 8'ish, took him to footie training at 9, picked him up at 3.30 and he left at 4! I've really earnt my money today! Happy days!

mogs0 · 10/08/2007 16:27

Thanks mumlove! The part just arrived. I opened it and it's the wrong one!!! Phoned landlady, who phoned washing machine people and they're sending the correct part next week! Oh, poo, no clean clothes left!! On the plus side, my Mum is coming tomorrow maybe she'll offer to go to launderette!! I'm so lazy!!!

MML - sounds like you've had a really tough day! Put your feet up and relax!!

looneytune · 10/08/2007 18:43

How exciting for those all off on hols Mine's all gone now but at least we got one!!! (after a 6 yr wait )

HenniPenni - oh no, what happened? Have a nice big drink to settle the nerves

Mogs - hope you sort your washing machine out soon! I've got a different problem - freezer packed up with over £250 worth of food!!! What a mess, what a smell, yuck! Need to go out and buy a new one and restock asap!!!

Mo - you poor love, you sound like you've really been rushed off your feet. Get a nice stiff drink and try and take it easy!

Actually, I've got a REALLY hard week next week.........Mon and Tues the 2 sisters are on hols so day off, Wed they're back with me but no idea what time (wanna know why.......gossip gossip (for those who know the story)........the au pair is packing up and leaving on Sunday, I'm giving her lift to new family, b&b guests are going to be left to it, family will come home to a note, oh dear!).......Thurs & Fri is just the one baby who currently is an angel, sleeps lots and keeps getting picked up early - leaving at 3pm on Friday!

ju · 10/08/2007 19:24

hi all at you lot going away but unreasonably because we went to cyprus in may . No mindees today, no DCs either as they are still in Scotland with Dp visiting ILs, coming home tomorrow, yay. So I've been to Grown Up Lunch with my girlfriends then had me hair done. Off out in a bit to visit relatives. I do miss my boys (and DP of course) but it's been bliss sigh
hennipenni hope you are ok
looney I am sure you'll keep us posted !

LoveMyGirls · 10/08/2007 20:31

Hi just caught up on todays stuff, my day wasn't as bad as yesterday but no picnic either - its involves spitting, chucking shepherds pie everywhere etc dont even really wanna go into it just hope next week is much much better than this week! Im off to get some wine!

hennipenni · 10/08/2007 21:26

Thanks Ju, I'm fine now, mae better by an invitation to a 40th adult only (ooh-er!)birthday party tomorrow night, mindee1s parents are going too, I'd better behave myself

Looney, it went something like this: We were walking down the hill to our house, DD aged12 drops her football which merrily wings it's way past myself, holding onto exhuberant mindee2 and mindee1 who were both behaving themselves.
Next thing I see is mindee3 running past me, onto the road- totally focused on rescueing the ball, me shouting at the top of my voice "XXXX get back on the pavement, NOW!" Still he is focused on the football, I really screamed at him at this point, just as said learning support assistant comes around the corner in her car to see XXXX running in the road in front of her, luckily she wasn't going fast and was able to slow down, at which point he clicked what he was doing wrong. One very shookup mindee and lots of appologies later-calm was restored.

PinkChick · 11/08/2007 20:03
