HELP with nanny registration

Hi
We've just got a lovely new nanny who we're going to pay to get registered. She has registered with the ofsted portal and I am trying to find appropriate courses for paediatric first aid and common core skills and a website to get an enhanced DBS check.

Lots of stuff comes up when I google. We live in north London and wonder whether anyone can recommend courses and also a website that does speedy enhanced DBS checks.

Many thanks for your help.

The Ofsted DBS site will enable her to get a DBS check done. She will need to know someone who can verify her ID (details of suitable occupations are on the form) or she will need to use the Postoffice Verify service which costs extra.

If she has lived outside of the UK during the past 5 years then criminal record checks from other countries will be needed and will need to be translated.

First Aid training I use Tigerlilly Training. They run courses around the country. tigerlilytraining.co.uk The course suitable for Ofsted registration is a one day practical plus an online e-learning module. If your nanny has never done first aid training before then I would suggest they do a 2 day practical course so they get more time to practice things like resuscitation and bandaging.

Nothing about becoming Ofsted registered will be speedy, or fast... it will be slow slow slow. Expect it to take 3 to 6 months! Be impressed if it happens within 4 months.

Many thanks and thanks for warning!
And found the DBS link on the website - which is probably more complicated than it needs to be...

I know that Koru kids gives paediatric first aid training and DBS checks their nannies. Perhaps check with them if they offer training to external nannies Smile
