Several times

Be firm - offer no excuses just 'circumstances have changed'

Do NOT back down

I had this a while ago and it took me 2 weeks to say it, but I did just say things have changed and you can no longer care for them, say sorry and that you will do all you can to help them find a new CM. It is tough but you will feel much better once you have done it, I know I did, good luck with it

thanks great to know that some one else has felt scared like me lol. i am going to dread it but will do it. the kids have been on hols for 2 weeks and i am dreading them turning up on monday. i know i cant say it in front of kids . think i will have to ask mum to come back on her own at night so i can speak to her. did you give written notice or just say it?i have grown to care about kids so this will be hard to say i had enough of them .

I said it to the parent and wrote it in a letter, I also put CIS website address and phone number and other places where a new Cm might be found, I had to do it in front of mindee but it was ok.
