What car insurance providers to people use. My usual provider, Tesco, gocampare all want exorbitant amounts

If the au pair is young and has not had their licence for long, then it will be exorbitant, whoever you go with. Try having a look at some of the new driver type of policies.

All of the insurers are very cautious because au pairs are usually young and inexperienced on UK roads. It's not something you can work around.

We use Admiral and as long as they’ve over 22 with 3 years driving experience, the quotes are really reasonable.

NB if they’re under 20, we worked out taxis were cheaper!
