Tax free childcare - Scotland

Hello!

We are keen to pay our nanny via tax free childcare, however we are in Scotland so she is unable to register with Ofsted.

Does anyone know how this can be done out with England?

Thanks in advance for any info.

I think she would need to be registered with the Care Inspectorate. I pay my childminder through this and it is very easy to set up once she has Care Inspectorate registration number. You need to set up a Government Gateway account for yourself.

As far as I am aware, in Scotland it is the nanny agency that is registered not the individual nanny. So your nanny needs to be recruited via an agency. If you already have a nanny then contact an agency and see if they can process the paperwork for a fee.

This agency gives a little bit of information about registering an existing nanny with them so you can use tax free childcare.
