Business side of childminding

Calling childminders, if you don't mind answering I'd love to hear from you! What are the main business aspects of childminding, do you register as a sole trader? Do you have an accountant? Sort your own tax and expenses? Calculate your own fees and funding for your children or have a bookkeeper? Do any of you employ anyone to help and pay their wages?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Registered as a sole trader and I do all my own accounts. I have an assistant but she’s a volunteer so no wages to worry about. It’s all very simple, just need to keep on top of it.

I’m self employed, but have no idea if that means I’m a sole trader? It’s just me though, so maybe I am.
I do all my own accounts, at the end of each month. Much easier to keep on top of everything rather than wait till the tax man wants his return. I use the Lacey accounts book and find it really easy tbh. I also do all my own billing and sort the funding myself. It doesn’t really take that long to do, especially once you have done it a couple of times.

I don’t have an assistant so can’t help with that, sorry.
