Is it really only the third day of the holidays!!!!!!
Have a 5 year old who I have had from a baby, she is now at school, and as all my older children have now gone passes the age of a CM, she has become my oldest, and dont we know it, she has become soooooooooooo bossy. Think we will have to work on this I'm the only boss in this house!

Good luck - 5yos can be.....tricky

Morning - it's day 5 here

Shoshable · 25/07/2007 07:42

Poor 4 year old has been so waiting for her to start holidays so she had somebody to play with, as all the rest of my mindees are babies and all the 5 year old has done has bossed her around and disagreed with what she has said, think I might have to sit her down and have a little talk. She is o the G&T level at school, so well able to understand about hurting others feelings.

Anyway, has things picked up for you at all Katy?
Where are you anyway, maybe you should move here, we don't have enough CMs, three calls this week and don't know anyone that can take them.

No calls

Long talk with dad last night - discussing the future

MaureenMLove · 25/07/2007 08:03

Morning. I really hope you can sort things Katy, it doesn't sound good at all.
Shosh, you sound like you've got a Bella from the Tweenies on your hands! Just shows you though, a child can be as G&T, but basically still needs to learn how to behave properly. My dd is G&T btw - in sport! Much more useful imho!

mumlove · 25/07/2007 08:18

Good morning, just waiting for last mindee to arrive.
Need to think about what to do today, I have no ideas at the moment. The sky is cloudy, are we going to have rain? will ask the kids what they want to do.
have a lovely day all of you.

Shoshable · 25/07/2007 08:45

Mo she is soooooooooooooo Bella always has been, abd the other one is so Fizz

My dd used to have Bella tendancies, now they've turned into Kevin the teenager, allbeit just over a year early!
Now then, I've been burying my head in the sand about money for August. Since most of my kids are term time only, they obviously don't pay me an awful lot for August. Plus 2 of them have left me for senior school. So, its the day before dh payday, that needs to see us a lot of the way through August and I've just worked out that its not as bad as I thought! I've got one mindee who's usually term time and occasional holidays. He's going to a football training course, local to me for one week, and I'm taking and picking up. Sooooo, there is a question, bare with me! Do you think its reasonable to say to mum, since I will be the first contact if he's ill/hurt, I will charge for actually minded hours plus extra, even if he's not actually with me for most of the day? Afterall, it does mean that I am restricted in what I do all day, because I need to be around to take and collect him. Its a 6 hour course, what dya think about 3 hours extra?

Shoshable · 25/07/2007 09:06

I would charge retainer for the other hours cos you are the point of call for him.

Cool! that sounds about right for me! Right, I'm going to spend obscene amounts of money in the camping shop in about half hour! DH and me both have no work today and dd is away, so we're going to spend, spend, spend! What's even nicer is, that its money we saved for just such an occasion, so it ours to spend!

Hi everyone.

Day 3 of holidays and so far...........amazingly good Ds was my ONLY worry as he drives me mad normally but he's been GREAT so far. Monday we were in as chucking it down and the sisters were poorly. Yesterday I took ds and older of the sisters to a Farm Park (baby ended up going home as too ill). Today I'm off to friend's house then off to buy a birthday present for mindee.

Katymac - I've not been around much so not sure what's going on but I'm so sorry things aren't looking so good at the moment, is it just a lull?

ADVICE NEEDED - mindee turned 2 at the weekend and the last couple of days she behaved like (in her mums words) a brat! I was pretty sure it was the terrible two's but was surprised at how bad she got in just a few days. Anyway, I'm sure it's more than just that as her tummy was soooooooooo bloated on 2 occasions yesterday and she was moaning about having a poo and still hasn't done one so I'm pretty sure she's constipated. I've never had to deal with this so wondered if there's anything I can do to help. Her mum thought banana's would help and I said I thought that would make it worse? But that other fruit should be good? Any tips?

Have a good day everyone

dylansaunty · 25/07/2007 10:33

avoid bananas looneytune, they are one of the worst things! along with eggs. other fruit is good though, and try prune juice, if the poor child can stand to drink something so horrid!

looneytune · 25/07/2007 10:50

good, i told mum i thought it would stuff her up even more. i'm going to advise her to stay off milk too as i've read that makes worse. poor thing sat on my lap with my hand on her tummy, she's all wobbly in her walking and keeps straining. got to go, thanks for advice

mumlove · 25/07/2007 14:05

Well rain started at lunch time, glad we went out this morning, but forgot to buy milk so will do that later!
Now off to play tents.

MaureenMLove · 25/07/2007 21:08

I know its a bit late to be in the staff room, but I've just seen Fifi lurking about!

Katymac · 25/07/2007 21:09

Apple juice works on my children

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:23

still open then?!

Hiya!!!!!

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:26

constipation advice- brown sugar mixed with warm water-works a treat for children!

also try massage:

lightly massage the stomach in an anti-clockwise circle, dont press too hard. Every now and then band the kness and push towards stomach (dont break her legs-its lie crouching but shes on her back)

oooooooooooooh get me- miss smarty pants!

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:26

band the ness is gobildogook for bend the knees

MaureenMLove · 25/07/2007 21:29

Better chat on this one, its not fair to hijack Lissie's thread.
So, you're off on your jollies at the weekend? Where you going?
We've just booked our first camping trip for next week. DH is currently testing his sleeping bag! Saddo! He's lying on the sofa like a slug! He's bought oneof those mummy ones, that go right up over your head and it gets thinner towards the bottom. Too caustophobic for me!

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:35

im off to chav land! (torimolinus!)

Im off with my bf who just found out she cant have children bless her. Her dh is stasying at ours while we jet off. I think it will do her the world of good. Shes being very quiet about it and so i think being on a girly break will let it out.

so- ive a week there and a week doing DIY at home! am so in need of this break, Been working my ass off!

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:37

ps- im the super camper of camping! dh and i have a double sleeping bag which is attatched to an inflatable double air matress- pure camping bliss!

youre going to have soooooooo much fun! camping rocks!

where to?

MaureenMLove · 25/07/2007 21:42

We're going to Suffolk. Didn't want to go too far, since its only til Friday. There's a fishing lake on site which dh & dd will be at and I'll be doing my impression of Hyacynth Bucket in the tent! But mostly drinking wine and reading. I couldn't possibily have a double sleeping bag! No! He's a big bloke my dh and I'm a bit of a weed and I have visions of him turning over, with the sleeping bag twisted under him and me flying over the top of him! That and he's a bloody fidget in bed! He doesn't keep still. I need to be able to get away - quick!

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:45

my dh is 6 1/2 stone heavier than me and yes- i do get squidged when we are in the sleeping bag, but its ocsey and if he gets too closei just pinch him! tee-hee!

at the mo though, hes allowed as close as he likes as often as he likes he thinks its his birthday!

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:47

i meant cosey..............

I said i was off to bed, then the computer distracted me! Hes now shouting to tell me to get to sleep because ive been so knackered this wk! I havent felt this tired since the marathon!

I ache, my whole body aches, my back, my boobs....AF on her way i reckon. Just in time for my daisies too. Bugger.

am doing a pg test on fri.

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:48

youve gone?!

oy!
