my dd is in fulltime school so doesnt use the childminder anymore ,she has gone during school holidays though ,she didnt go last school holiday because i booked it off . I meant to ring her about the summer hols (cringes inwardly ) but with one thing and another I never picked up the phone . I wasnt too worried about childcare over the hols because i thought my mum was going to be around but she has gone abroad at short notice and im not sure when she will return ,so now im going to have to ask the childminder at even shorter notice if she can take my dd .So on a scale of 1-10 how do i rate as a cr**p parent ?

ask she may have space explain your mom gone away short notice she wont think you are crap, remember you are an income if she got space i dont see why she would say no you could alays apologise for giving no notice!

She won't think you're c**p. I have a few "ex" families who often call at very short notice for holiday/occasional care.

I always say I don't mind how short notice I get as long as the parent accepts I may have to say no. Obviously the more notice I get the more chance there is of my being available.
