Morning - only 2 today.........very quiet I had 7 this day last year & 6 were full days

But anyway I had an enquiry so fingers crossed

hope your rain dries up

MaureenMcGonagall · 20/07/2007 08:20

Hey, Mumlove! this is for you!

Not happy about the weather. All the kids will be wailing and howling in the rain and we won't be able to take pictures. Just have to hope beyond all hope that there is a lull in the rain at 1.30pm. I've got the afternoon off to spend in the pub with all the mums too, not if its raining though, we won't be able to sit in the garden and the kids'll go stir crazy in the childrens room. Oh um!

LoveMyGirls · 20/07/2007 08:30

My dd breaks up today am hoping A/S mindee comes for her last day today as we're planning a cinema afternoon. I've only got 1 pt mindee this morning and dd2. We start the hols on monday and I will have 5 inc my own and they will all be gone by 3pm!

I'm off out tonight with lots of childminders, lets hope i dont embarrass myself like last week!

mumlove · 20/07/2007 08:45

MML thankyou very much. All my DD keeps asking is when can she have some of the chocolate cake!

With all this rain our teddy bears picnic at toddlers is now going to be indoors and I also have to take DD as couldn't find anyone yet to have her, but I hope there will be other older ones there as all the schools here have finished for the hols.

Will bring cake to the staff room later.

Shoshable · 20/07/2007 08:50

Had good night with who I used to call my 'nightmare' baby. She really has totally changed since my chat with the parents and I'm soooooooooo glad I didn't give notice But what a day, how horrible is that rain!!! The storm is over us at the moment and my front is getting flooded in such a short time I got SOAKED on the school run, baby got wet too as couldn't find the rain cover in the car but she loved the rain and thought getting wet was funny. Got back, changed us both and now baby is asleep in bed. Just hoping the loud thunder doesn't wake her up as I need to wash and sterilise bottles as no clean ones for the next feed.

Please, please, please let the rain calm down before I have to go and collect ds at 12.30!

My holidays start on Monday but I don't have any extra kiddies, just the usual toddler and babies plus ds - he's the one I'm worried about. I've got loads of things we can do IF the weather is ok but oh, it's just soooooooooo horrible!!!

Have a good day everyone!

LMG's - have a fab night and don't get too drunk!!!

thebumcleaner · 20/07/2007 10:10

I would like to say grrrr.

Last day of school - yippee!

Mindee came here last night as mum ill at 11pm, and mum has gone off to work and not said how she is or when she will be home. Her partner is there at the moment, but I still have their child??? I live opposite, so can see the car! Why do people just dump children on you? Arrgghhh. Good job I haven't planned to go out really.

LoveMyGirls · 20/07/2007 11:03

TBC - Can you phone her and ask her what time she is planning on picking up?

hennipenni · 20/07/2007 11:23

No rain here yet. Mindee one is off today as her daddy wants to spend some time with her. Mindee2 has been sent home as she fell over in my care and banged her head very badly, feel very guilty about it. So I have technically finished now for two weeks.

MaureenMcGonagall · 20/07/2007 11:29

Don't forget we're partying later on. We'll celebrate the end of term and Mumlove's birthday at the same time. Maybe we should do a sun dance too! Comfy dancing shoes please, I'm going to do a Salsa demo!

MaureenMcGonagall · 20/07/2007 11:33

Henni, I'm sure the parents don't blame you, so try not to worry. Its easy said then done thought isn't it? I once had a lad whose SISTER was helpfully putting him in the buggy for me and managed to trap his fingers in the joint as she put it up! I felt hideous for days, he was perfectly fine, as were the parents, but I had sleepless nights.

hennipenni · 20/07/2007 11:56

I know it was an accident and her parents were fine but guilt goes with the territory.

DD and her friend are currently baking a cake, oh my, we'll see what it tastes like. I will hand it around later.

crace · 20/07/2007 12:37

Ok, I hate Fridays- easy day but I just have NO energy and pretty much useless. And it's been rainy and horrid. I am so blinking tired, it's untrue.

And I can't go to this wedding for DH's best mate as his Nanny has had a stroke up in Cumbria and our babysitter (and dogsitter) is gone. Bum - Obviously I can't get upset about it but I am disappointed.

Feeling sorry for myself or what?!

Rubybees · 20/07/2007 13:18

Arrhhh what lovely weather eh! Yesturday we where out in the garden with sun cream on and today it is raining so hard and very stormy!

Roll on the hols so IO can leave the little ones in bed instead of dragging them out into the rain for school runs hehe

Only got my 2 and 2 youngest for the hols so very exictied about it hehe

looneytune · 20/07/2007 13:52

Tell me about it! Got soaked on first school run then when I went to pick ds up, got a wet bump as I've got a bloody leak in my car Think it must be from the sun roof. The roads were terrible on the way to school, people stucks, water to some of the doors of people's houses, sandbags on some road to try to stop it getting worse. One good thing though, baby got picked up at 12.30 instead of 6 so I'm done for the day Mum said they didn't want to come out later as their road had a burst water pipe, like many round here, and they were worried they'd end up trapped in. At least I didn't have to worry about getting baby wet again!

Right, nagging from ds as he's excited we're alone and wants to play with so many things, he's brought a pile down from his room and wants to play with me now.

WTF - the rain has suddenly stopped and the sun is shining - i need to open a window as it's suddenly got warm - bloody weird weather!!!!!!!!

looneytune · 20/07/2007 13:54

*bum& not bump - and please excuse the other spello's - that was a terrible post

looneytune · 20/07/2007 13:54

WTF is wrong with me bum

hennipenni · 20/07/2007 14:34

Well, it's started raining now, very heavy and fast, looks like I'll get very wet going to school. W're going camping on monday for 10 days, i hope it clears up.

Would anyone care for a piece of DDs lemon cake? It really is rather scrummy!

hennipenni · 20/07/2007 14:38

Crikey looney, it sounds very wet where you are. At least with living on a hill it would have to rain constantly for about 4 yrs before we got water to our doorstep!

LoveMyGirls · 20/07/2007 14:45

Yummmmmmm I'll have some please henni, its chucking it down here too, i have been a bit disorganised and promised dd1 and mindee (whose leaving today) that we'll have a cinema afternoon but i have nothing in (didnt know if mindee was coming or not etc only found out at 1ish that she is coming but dd2 is in bed and still sleeping) so will have to do school run in rain and go to asda and then take mindee home again later.

hennipenni · 20/07/2007 14:57

(Henni hands LMGs a piece of lemon cake) Anybody else?

Had some lovely news yesterday that made me a proud mum, DD1s school entered her into a rcreative writing competition a few weeks back, she got a letter from a publisher yesterday saying that her work was too be published in a book about creative poems in the autumn.

Said goodbye this week to siblings that I've had for 2.5 yrs, I didn't even get a thankyou or goodbye from their parents, I'm feeling hurt and unappreciated by this.

MaureenMcGonagall · 20/07/2007 14:59

Well, where I live the sun is out and the sky is blue! I kid you not - its a pretty fine afternoon. I'll just have another check at the sky......yep! Its not bad. Hope its all improving you you lot. Crace, if its ok here, it must be boardering on ok with you, surely?
We're done with school now. Dd came out in floods of tears, as did most of her friends! I get upset for the kids really. I was pretty ok other than that. I wouldn't mind, but all the girls she was crying with are all in the park together now! (AND she's going to school in September with most of them! Girls! I'll be back later to get the party started, going to the park myself now with mindee. Tarrah!

looneytune · 20/07/2007 15:29

Yes please henni - yum

And yes, the weather is terrible. Saz73 does a school run where I would normally get my pre-schooler but yesterday was her last day with me til Sept - I'm soooooo glad i didn't have to do it today, Saz said that the car park was so flooded, she had to wade through it to get to the school doors as it was up to her knees!!! BAD!!! apparently we've had 2 months worth of rain in 1 day!!

mumlove · 20/07/2007 15:31

OK I have come armed with chocolate cake for everyone, no pushing and shoving for it queue nicely.

Still no sun for us today .

LoveMyGirls · 20/07/2007 16:43

Ahh Henni its awful they didnt even thank you! ihad that with a mindee last year, i printed out all his photos and did a scrapbook etc and cried when i shut the door, his mum didnt even say thank you i was gutted, he was my first long-ish term one to leave

I've got an after schooler leaving me today, she has brought us all a little present im really going to be sad to see her go but I hope i will still have her on the odd day here and there so it doesnt feel so final!
