Reconfirmed hours but now in grace period?

I reconfirmed by the deadline, however I have yet to receive a decision from HMRC. The website says this can take up to 7 days, and this has now taken me beyond the deadline. However my childcare provider has told me that on the LA system she uses, I have gone into the grace period. She seems unsure if I can get back out of it.

Has anyone experienced this?

My portal always shows parents as in the grace period but the date changes. Ask her to look at the date. Very confusing I had to clarify why it said parent was in grace period and was panicking as had confirmed eligibility
