Childminders, can you tell me..

I've never used any kind of childcare before and am not sure if a childminder would normally be willing to do what I need!
Basically I only need school drop-off in the mornings and only three days a week. Would that be too little time for a childminder to take on?
Am completely clueless!

If a child is being looked after for less than 2 hours per day then you don't strictly need to be a childminder to do it, how about asking around some of the mums at the school and seeing if one of them would like to do it?

dustystar · 18/07/2007 16:04

You can only ask. It won't suit a lot of minders but its worth a try.

I know I don't actually need a childminder for it but have looked and looked and I can't find anyone else willing

Im starting college in Sept and have to be there the same time my dd has to be in school, and they don't have a breakfast club. I just don't know what I'm going to do!

saltireslytherin · 18/07/2007 16:09

Yes maybe one of us could help out. Although I have to confess I'm not technically a CM , as I was in Scotland but have just moved

Boredveryverybored · 18/07/2007 16:15

Lots of childminders will do school drop-offs only - it is, unfortunately, a case of ringing around. Contact your local Childrens Information Service for details of CMs in your area. Good luck!

Rubybees · 19/07/2007 20:31

I would of thought lots of childminders would be able to do this for you

not in your area afraid but I have 2 familys like this as no b/fast club! The school say there is no requirment! Funny that most childminders in my area have school drop offs who go to afterschool club

princessmel · 19/07/2007 20:32

I know people who just do drop offs. They have other children too so its not their only income.
