i have looked after a boy for 2 yrs now after school he is 11 now and due to leave primary school next thursday
parent has bad credit with me as cheques always bounce so i always ask for cash from her
my policy is that parents pay me the first day of the week so last week mum kept forgetting her purse
this week on monday she said she would bring it tuesday but forgot again
tonight i asked her for the payment and she said she would come back later to pay me.
7pm i phoned to ask her if she was on the way and asked her to bring cash
7.20pm her dp arrived with a cheque for £80 and i told him a cheque was no good as i needed cash (as i dont trust her cheques)
so i asked him if he could nip to the bank and bob back
got a phone call with the mum screaming down the phone telling me i had never menioned cash and why wasnt her cheque good enough for me.
i told her calmly that as the payment was late i could only except cash.
well she went off on one saying she wouldnt have any cash till next thursday as tax credit only pay on wednesdays (so cheque would have bounced)
so i told her that i'm very sorry but without the cash i would be unable to have her son tomorrow and the 4 days next week to which she put the phone down on me.
feel rather down at the moment as i feel like a mug and i guess she wasnt planning on paying me at all.
